Velvac 055034 Seven Way Plug Cleaner

First off, you don't get the one that's pictured, the item is actually a cylindrical yellow tool, with wire brushes on both ends. It is for use cleaning both the truck-side plug and trailer socket on semi-tractors and trailers.The end that cleans the trailer socket pins works great. The end that cleans the tractor-side plug is a problem: on the first use, I pushed the plug from my truck fully into the tool, which has 7 bore brushes that insert into and clean all of the female contacts simultaneously. The bore brushes grip the contacts so firmly that I couldn't remove the tool from the plug.I tried pulling, pulling while twisting, bracing it against the edge of the truck frame and pulling, and inserting a screwdriver and prying - nothing even budged it. Finally, as I was leaving late for my delivery already, I had to break the tool into pieces with a hammer to get it off the plug. Even then, I had to remove the individual bore brushes with pliers. Other reviews indicate I'm not the only one to experience this problem.On the positive side, the trailer socket-side of the tool worked well and solved a pulsing light problem on the trailer that day. The tool is well-built and appears strong enough for its intended use.I returned the broken pieces to Amazon with a description of the problem, received a refund, and ordered another tool. I'll only use it for cleaning trailer sockets until I have a chance to reduce the size and grip of each of the bore brushes. My plan is to use a section of copper tubing to work each brush individually to wear them down some. I'll also not insert the plug fully into tool. And, I'll insure I have a hammer handy just in case.

The device I received does not in any way resemble what is shown for what I ordered. The tool I received looks like it might accomplish what was intended except the brushes are not clocked correctly with the alignment lug to allow insertion into the plug. I will be requesting a refund. I only provided a 1 star rating because the form would not allow me to submit it with zero stars.

I returned this item because I didn't read the product description accurately. I needed a 7-BLADE versus 7-PIN cleaner. However, it sure looks like it would work great.

Have used one like this for a long time. Bought this one as a replacement. Worked good with no issues. Will use the old on for 4-Way and other plugs that need to be cleaned as well.

Has 2 sides one for the outlet and one for the plug plug side doesn't fit either of my 7 point trailers. Also doesnt look anything like what's pictured in ad

The item sent is not the item pictured.

It's the yellow cylinder. The male part is too big, The female part doesn't fit. The wire brushes won't pull out. Going back after being out of the box for 30 seconds.

Wrong product was sent way too big . Not as pictured. I need the smaller red plug cleaner as pictured and got large yellow ones instead. Not as pictured or described. Really disappointed!
