You have to boil it longer
I tried this pasta initially by boiling half the box. I boiled it for the exact time on the box. The pasta was so hard and had a strong chickpea flavor. I was very disappointed but a few days later I tried boiling it longer, for 20 minutes, if not a few minutes more, yes that long. The pasta was still aldente but it tasted like regular pasta and I added the whole foods marina sauce and drizzled some olive oil and added fresh basil. I couldn’t stop eating it, now that it’s all gone I’m back here adding several more to my cart. I’m happy knowing I’m eating a healthier alternative to regular pasta and that I was able to make it work.

Stays firm! Thank you chickpeas!
Okay! Pasta snob! Never thought I’d see the day when I gave up my nice Italian wheat pasta, but I did for my health and I know I should have done it sooner. Many gf pastas out there do not measure up. A measly 8 oz for a price that could easily be 3x a POUND of wheat pasta.. this value is not fantastic but good when compared with other brands.. what is the difference? The texture. It holds. Firmer than some rice based pastas but that’s good. It won’t crumble or turn to mush! You can mix and match and bake and stew and it’s not gonna fall to little pieces of unrecognizable something in your food! It holds well even with some sautéing and tossing around, like with my favorite, broccoli rabe. Flavor is good. It’s not as sweet as rice or other grain based pastas. 100% chickpea flour (organic). Just when I thought I knew everything about my favorite bean, who knew all by itself it was the best ingredient for gf pasta?!

Keeps its Shape
Very good grain-free pasta that keeps its shape longer than most chickpea pastas. It takes longer to cook - so what? I’d rather spend a few more minutes than have mushy, pasty shells. Use 365 vegan cheddar shreds & Silk unsweetened soy milk for a fast microwave mac & cheese that won’t kill you as quickly as Kraft.

Shell yes!
Gluten free pasta that actually tastes good! These cook really well and don’t get mushy like other chickpea noodles I’ve used in the past. The texture is perfect and very similar to regular pasta except much healthier. Definitely worth it for your taste buds!

Not my fave but they do the job
I am on a strict gluten free diet, and I have to watch many other ingredients as well. The texture and taste of these is a little off putting in comparison to the Banza brand, but it is tolerable when you need pasta shells. I do like the price, and the ingredients. They cook fairly fast and fit my health requirements, so while they’re not my favorite I will purchase again!

Atkins Diet Pasta Perfect
Made a pasta dish for a friend on the Atkins Diet using these chickpea shells......delicious, cooked in the time the box called for and definitely will get them again. A very healthy way to augment protein in a dish that would be mostly carbo.

This Is My New Favorite Pasta
I love this pasta. It cooks up well and holds its shape. Some legume pastas get mushy, but this doesn't. It provides great chickpea protein. I use it a lot.

I don't understand the good reviews
This stuff is absolutely awful. I recently switched to gluten free, and I love pasta so that was a problem. However, the others I've tried are so much better. The taste is so overpowering that it ruins whatever is put on it. The texture at any level of cooked is terrible. They're grainy, fall apart in your mouth into little gritty nastyness. Gross. Do yourself a favor and avoid this sad excuse for pasta.
