My Honest Review...
I'm a licensed Amateur Radio Operator. These connectors have a gold plated or a brass center pin on them. I believe that the connector body and the adapters are nickel plated. This makes it easier to solder the center conductor of the coaxial cable to the center pin, and to solder the shield to the connector body of them. It also resists corrosion between the center pin and the socket that it plugs into, making for a better connection between them. These connectors also contain a Teflon dielectric insulator around the center pin, so that you are much less likely to melt them, due to overheating them with the soldering iron. The Teflon insulators seem to tightly remain in their affixed places very well, and there isn't any slop or movement with them in the connector body. The Teflon also helps to prevent short circuiting between the center conductor and the connector body, especially when you apply high RF power levels into them. I feel very confident that these connectors will withstand 1200 watts of RF on a continuous-duty basis, and can likely withstand up to a maximum of 5 KW PEP, using a good quality RG-8 (.405 inch diameter) type of coaxial cable or the appropriately sized corrugated hardline with them. These are pretty good quality connectors for the price you pay for them. I use them myself and I do recommend them. I also use the specific reducers that come with these connectors for RG-8X (mini 8X) coaxial cable. These connectors and the reducers for them are well made and are of good quality, for what they are. Don't allow anyone to convince you any different! Granted, they are not the well known Amphenol connectors, but these are actually just as good to use in my personal opinion! Being on the air is always better than not being on the air, so buy and use these connectors. I have not yet found anything at all bad about these connectors, and I'm very picky and fussy about quality of things for the money I spend for things, too. I also don't want to burn out my radio and amplifier gear by using poorly made connectors or coaxial cables with them, either. In my personal opinion, these connectors are now already tried and proven in my own radio environment. I have no regrets buying and using these connectors! I recommend them. I'm happy and I'm satisfied with them. Happy hamming and happy CBing, whichever is the case for you. Just enjoy the radio hobby. Best regards.

Excellent connectors.
Excellent solder-on PL259 connectors. The dielectric does not melt when you heat the center conductor to solder, the threads are nice and smooth. Overall much higher quality than 90% of the other PL259 solder connectors you find on Amazon... especially the ones with the red/orange middle dielectric. These remind me of the OG amphenol connectors. Get these if you want to make some high quality low-loss no-fuss LMR400 or RG8 antenna cables.

Very well made.
these are quality parts. The teflon center is the nicest feature. They work perfectly with RG-8X cable. Just right if you are making custom cable lengths.

Not Bad !
Decent for cheap connectors. Many on Amazon are just horrible but, these are pretty good. At least they accept solder and dont melt when you solder them.I would buy again (in fact I did!)..

Good conectors for the money
A lot better quality than the cheaper $ 1.00 each Chinese connectors.the old adage you get what you pay forI have been a Amateur radio operator for 47 years and the question is you spend $3000.00 for a tower $ 2000.00 on and antenna $ 1.50 per foot on coax cable then go cheep on connectors. That is like putting Flex fuel in a Corvette.I have repeaters running in my county and bought factory crimp connectors on coax for jumpers and a lot of them are junk I use only quality connectors on quality coax that I solder on myself.

Good product for Ham use
AS a solder-type PL259, it works well. Good finish accepts solder without a problem. Fits SO-239 sockets correctly (Some have off-pitch treads on the shell - this one does not).As good as those I have purchased at Hamfests. Would recommend, IF you know how to solder them on without overheating the dielectric. If you are a beginner, buy a bag and practice on a spare length of coax. These are no harder to install than any that I have used over 40 years.

I will buy more
I bought these for RG8X, not RG58 (the reducers are not that good a fit for RG58 but you could use them).I think Ive ordered these three times now. I finally found a solderable connector I like. I burnish the reducers and solder the shield to the reducer before assembling and then soldering the center conductor - totally waterproof when I get done. :)
