McCormick spices have been around for ages and I think because of this I tend to overlook them with all the new spices coming out with more modern packaging. This is a mistake on my part because I purchased the McCormick Cardamon and another more modern looking cardamon and by far the McCormick was the most fragrant. 5 *****.

McCormick's Gourmet Organic Ground Cardamom boasts "gourmet" status, but its oversized shaker holes and hefty price tag leave a lot to be desired. While the flavor itself is undeniably excellent (earning it a respectable 4 stars), the practical aspects of this product significantly detract from the overall experience. The generous (perhaps too generous) shaker holes result in a messy and uncontrolled dispensing of spice, making precise measurements nearly impossible. For a product marketed at a premium price point, this is a significant flaw. Ultimately, while the quality of the cardamom is undeniable, the significant drawbacks make it difficult to justify the cost.

I planned on making a batch of cardamom bread (a family special) for the holidays, only to realize my local grocery store doesn't carry cardamom anymore. I found this McCormick cardamom and it was a great price, so I ordered it. And I'm very pleased with it- great taste and that strong cardamom smell!

Ground Cardamom is very hard to find in country stores.

The place I have espresso at has a liitle extra flavor that I asked about. He brews it with cardamom and it really adds something to it. I bought this for myself to have when I make it at home. You an use it in regular coffee also. It's not cheap but I'm only going around once.
