Finally, some relief!
My house is near a major street, and there is a construction project going on nearby, which means I am often jolted awake by the sounds of eighteen-wheelers, dump trucks, huge vehicles hauling excavators, etc. thundering down the road, along with the regular car noises. Additionally, the geography around my house causes a wind tunnel on the back side, and anytime there is a storm or cold front, the wind goes howling past, often waking me up in the night. Add to that a neighbor with a monstrously loud AC unit which sits right near my bedroom, and you get a whole lot of noise pollution when I am trying to sleep. After putting these curtains up three days ago, I can attest that I woke up one morning surprised to find that all of my tall potted plants in the backyard had been knocked over, apparently by a wind storm, and I hadn't heard it! I also have not been woken up by any truck noise -- you can still hear them, but the edge has been taken off -- and the regular car noises have been significantly reduced. It's been cold recently, so I haven't been able to test whether it blocks the neighbor's AC unit or not, but the reduction in road and wind noise has been great.I didn't really feel like I needed the light-blocking feature prior to this, but since putting these curtains up, I've really noticed the benefits. I had gotten used to the street lights shining through my blinds even when they were closed, but now I can enjoy complete darkness when I get into bed. They also block out the morning sun pretty well when I wake up (I haven't noticed any light shining through the fabric), though I'm not sure how well they would function as total blackout curtains when viewed from the outside, since I don't really use them for that purpose.Overall, I would recommend these to anyone suffering from living in a noisy neighborhood. I, personally, have benefitted from them, and I think could, too.

Light blocking, thermal barrier, and sound dampening.
These curtains are very nice. I chose the grommet top style because they tend to be easier to open and close without hanging up, which these curtains perform well. They block most all light from shining through as advertised. They also make a decent thermal barrier for helping hold the temperature inside compared to the outside. My bed is against a window and now I don't feel any outside cold air emitting from my window.Outside my window about 20 feet is a busy roadway and these curtains help dampen the sound of cars driving by which is what I wanted as well. The color I got matched the pictures shown so I had no surprises. The material is a medium density with a little weight to it, not as thick as some blackout curtains I've had and has a slight shimmer to it.These aren't the most aesthetic curtains, but they are well functional and pleasant looking, especially for the price.

Does not black out direct sunlight
Works really well on overcast days (I live in Washington so that’s often) but today was the first clear sky morning since I bought these and man, what a bummer. As you can see in the photo, you can even see the snowflake decals on the window. I work nights so actually blacking out the sun is rather important. I bought 8 sets for all my windows and don’t plan on replacing them all to match. So I’m gonna double down and add another set to this window and hope that they do better bunched up.

Simple thermal blackout curtains, noise reducing to a point
These aren't the most beautiful curtains in the world but I don't spend copious hours staring at curtains in my bedroom. I needed these for functionality and what I need, they delivered. I ordered these just a bit longer and wider than my single bedroom window.I live a stones throw from the local school where happy children squeal and play outside multiple times a day. With these curtains over my window, I can't hear the kids playing in the morning. I also have chronic illness that leaves me fatigued or resting a lot of the time. These block plenty of light for comfortable daytime sleeps or naps. I don't know if they keep the warmth out because I haven't used them in the summer yet, but they definitely help keep the warmth in. I sleep fairly cool so my heater is only up a tick above freezing. Plenty comfortable for me.

Great light blocking
I bought these in navy and am very pleased. Nice weight and nice material for the price. These are great at blocking out light. I have overslept a couple times because when I roll over, it is still dark, so I think it is not yet morning! On work days, I leave them open a bit to remind me that it is daylight. They help with energy saving by keeping out any drafts. Highly satisfied.

Blackout as it gets
I have repurchased these twice now. I got them first for our room when I first had our baby to now putting some in her room. They were amazing. They helped us all sleep longer (including the baby!). I think they’re lifesavers. I now have them in her room for her naps and morning routine to open blinds and get sunlight. I purposely chose the darker mocha color to help as much as possible with the sunlight so I don’t know how well the lighter shades work. But I will keep rebuying these for every room we need.

Curtains are advertised very accurately.
Curtains are advertised very accurately. They block the sun, they are not heavy, and the dark brown color I ordered was perfect. The before picture is of the vertical blinds we had first. In the new picture you can still see the wrinkles. I never ironed them, though. Just took out of package and hung. The wrinkles did all fall out, once that sliding glass door got enough sun on it to warm it up.

Absolutely perfect
These curtains are perfect. My window is about 46 inches wide and 60 inches long . I purchased the 42x63 inch panels and they fit perfectly . I purchased them in black . We have a projector set up in our room and these curtains block out all the light during the day which is perfect .

Beyond Expectation
I needed one pair of 42"x63" curtains to complete a project I started using curtains I had already purchased from a national department store - - and the curtains being offered by Nicetown appeared to meet my needs. Unfortunately, the colour I wanted wasn't available in the size I needed - so Nicetown, without me asking them to do so, put me on a notification list - and as soon as they were available, they sent me an email. The curtains arrived 2 days later and, much to my surprise, the quality of the curtains, and the ability to block the light coming into a room, was far superior to the curtains I had already purchased, at a higher price, from the national department store (see photo below).I highly recommend Nicetown as a caring supplier, and their products for window covering needs.

Order larger than you think you need.
This should probably only be a four-star review as I ordered gray, but received green. However, the green look so much nicer than the gray would have that I'll go for the full 5-stars. I found that while I measured 77 inches for my window and ordered 84 inches of drapes, the folds meant these were far too small to cover the window they were intended for. They were perfect for another so that's where they are and they do look great. I guess the correct measurement for width should be something like real width plus 20 inches (at least.) The 77-inch windows now look great as well after I ordered 102-inch drapes.

Effective and great quality
I love these curtains. They're so soft and thick - the quality is evident. I have several photos here.My apartment faces east, so I get the sunrise, and super bright mornings until the sun is high enough in the sky that it's not coming straight into my apartment. So the first photo is of just my regular curtains closed, around 8am. These are not "sheer" curtains. They're actually solid dark green/blue with a white coated back. When the sun hits, they are practically see-through.When I got these new curtains, I got double rods too, SO - second pic is left side Nicetown curtains closed OVER the regular curtains, and right side ONLY the Nicetown curtains closed. Next pic, I turned off the light so you can see better. So light is still coming through, with just the Nicetown curtains alone. But compared to the first pic, it is just about night and day. Next pic is both sides, both curtains closed. Total blackout, except the light coming from above and below.I did similar comparisons around 10am. The light comes through the Nicetown ones a little more at that hour when the daylight is less glowy and a little more bright white.Lastly, from the kitchen I took a shot where you can see one room with the curtains wide open and also the living room with the curtains closed. I think it looks darker in this one because of how bright the other side of the photo is. It's not actually pitch black in the other room (it's an open room and there's a light on) - but the difference is still huge.SO! I will keep using my regular curtains when I just need to keep the sun from glaring in my eyes or off the screen. But if I want to have a horror movie marathon that begins at sunrise, now I can :)I would recommend the double rods and a cheap set of regular curtains to go behind them if you want the light to be fully blacked out.And the higher and longer you have the curtains, the less the light will come in from the top and bottom.Edit: the photos aren’t showing in the order I had added them, so first second and so on notes in the review are moot. They’re all jumbled, but you can figure out the timeline from the photo captions.

Such good quality
I never normally write reviews, but I am so impressed with the quality of these I just had to. I recently purchased new curtains for my whole house. Some from Wayfair, Walmart, and these. These are comparable quality to significantly more expensive ones from Wayfair. I wish I had bought these first, I would have put them in the whole house.

Misleading "pair" product description
My understanding is that "a pair" means 2 drapes in one order. The product advertises as "a pair", bought 2 of these for 2 windows in my room but the package arrived with only ONE drape in each package.. Disappointed. Will be returning as soon as possible.
