It does the job
Good product. I don't understand the "softness" question about a fastener.

SS is the way to go for decks

Very good stainless deck screws for good price.
Found these screws to be of very good quality. The heads are uniform and fit bit perfect. Also great price compared to screws I have purchased. Locally.

Real stainless steel screws
This is a good product to be used in decks where you expect a lot of element damage. I am hoping that when I want to change decking boards, i will be able to unscrew it easily and wont have to use a crow bar. These are sturdy enough, but I broke 1-2 while screwing it in hard wood. Use magnet to confirm that these are actually stainless steel (these are not magnetic)

Item: Grip Rite Prime Guard MAXS62714 Type 17 Point Deck Screw Number 10 by 3-Inch T25 Star Drive, Stainless Steel, 5-Pound Tub. Utilized in treated lumber on a floating dock. Had been utilizing coated screws which lasted about 10 years. Was impressed how easy the SS screws went into the wood verses the coated type. If you install a coated screw and then remove it, you will notice much of the coating has rubbed off. Problem after 10 years is many of the coated screws rusted and broke during removal off making board removal difficult. Will only use SS in the future though much more expensive.

So far so good
Time only will tell if they stand up to the elements and the pressure-treated wood, but they were in good shape when they went in. 15 year old hot-dipped galvanized nails and coated deck screws were so badly corroded they broke off rather than coming out. These screws were well-made and easy to use, better price than big box stores.

Good screws for most outdoor projects, if they arrive safely.
Stainless steel + star drive are a good combo for decks. The plastic box is handy for storage but the person who shipped it had a screw loose himself, so the plastic box bounced around in the too-big cardboard shipping box until the plastic box opened and the screws came out. Fortunately, the screws themselves are tough and the cardboard box contained them all (I think).

you won't get screwed with these
I've used a lot of different SS screws for outdoor projects, and these are the best of them. I purchased them to use for building raised garden beds built from 2x8 treated lumber with 4x4 corner posts. There wasn't a single defective screw in the box. No stripped heads, no bent or broken screws during construction of the beds.Only complaint is the plastic box was busted into several pieces. No biggie. These are the only SS screws I will order for outdoor projects in the future.

Great screws! Buy with confidence
These screws are great. Drove over 1000 screws in a new red cedar deck. Broke just 1 screw when I got into a big knot. I liked the Torx head a lot. I bought some quality Milwaukee bits. There is 1 free bit in each box that won’t fit in normal driver. Halifax Nova Scotia canada.

Last Forever
Replaced steel deck screws that rusted off after 15 years, won't have to do that ever again. No slippage with Torx drive. Should have used these the first time, the extra expense would've saved building the deck twice, plus they can be reused if the deck ever rots.

Excellent screws
Installed a whole bunch for a cedar dock. Not one stripped head nor broken screw.

Good buy
I haven't used them yet but stainless won't rust and snap off in 10 years like ceramic coated screws do. And they do! Trust me!
