Great price on a workhorse component
The MAX485 makes it very easy to interface RS422 and ModBus to microcontrollers like the Arduino for Raspberry Pi pico. Connection is trivial and I have had no trouble with the Daoki units.The photo shows the Daoki MAX485 hooked up the UART on an Arduino nano. With it, I have reliable serial communications over hundreds of feet using a 2 wire twisted pair interface (what's not to like?)
