Nautica Chatham Quilt, Full/Queen, 86 by 86-Inch

I'm coming from sleeping under various wool blankets for the last 7 years. My latest is from LL Bean, their second best (which is a VERY nice blanket compared to a Warden 80 or something, which is a VERY nice blanket compared to a surplus or something). This quilt blocks far more air than my wool blankets. I feel much warmer under it, likely because of the decreased air flow. This quilt weighs in around 7 pounds, close to my wool blankets. The size is adequate for a large male -- any bed sized blanket/quilt on the market is inadequate for the advertised bed size and two people as far as I can tell, something similar to trash bags saying they hold so much and yet can't fit the cans they are designed for.I had a true heirloom patchwork quilt that came to me 2nd or 3rd generation and I used it until it fell into shreds. This is my commercial replacement. I absolutely love this quilt. I went through hundreds of other quilts and designs and nothing spoke to me like this one (I saw this at BB@B first). The weight is what got me, I love thick and heavy. This falls into the just above medium scale on heavy and thick but the air blockage is superb (I sleep with an industrial 3 blade fan on me, sometimes it gets cold). My only problem is that is doesn't conform to the body, but I expect a few washings and some wear and tear and that will fix itself.I saw this bad boy from the opposite corner of the store (BB@B, I'm not plugging them, it's just the only local retailer to carry the product) and trotted on over. I left, did hours of searching only to find this is the only one to fit my criteria, plus I had gotten to feel test it. Get this while you can if you have the same values I do and appreciate the pattern, you won't regret it.

Bought two of these for my sons' bedroom. These quilts wash and dry beautifully, per some of the other reviews. I'm anal about my bedding and wash quilts probably more often than I should but these look great and have been washed several times already and still look brand new.My one complaint is when I did receive my package from Revman Industries, these quilts smelled extremely moldy, like they'd been sitting in someone's damp basement for a year. (I'm also allergic to mold so I got a big whiff of it right as I opened the box from amazon). I figured I'd take a chance and wash them and if the smell was still there, I'd return the product. The smell did completely wash out after a couple of wash/dry cycles, so I kept them. The price here was cheaper than other retailers, so I guess to me it was worth a little mustiness to save a few bucks.

I bought this quilt as a temporary cover for my bed until I found one I really liked. This quilt is nice and has great colors, but it just comes down to the end of the mattress on either side of my king size bed - would really like to find a quilt that comes down to cover the boxspring! It's a little short on each side.

I ordered this when I redid my 3 year old son's room. His older sister has a Pottery Barn quilt that I love, and I wanted him to have something similar that would sort of grow up with him. But for one, he is still a little destroyer and I didn't want to spend the money on a Pottery Barn set incase he'd somehow rip it up. And two, when I started comparing, I really liked the look of this one better than the sets I was seeing on PB Kids. Anyway, it arrived and it's perfect. We also bought Cars and dinosaur sheets to keep it fun, and I'm just amazed at how much goes with this set because of all the colors in it! He really likes it and wants to sleep with the matching sham pillow every night instead of his Mater pillow because it's 'more comforbal'.

this is the worst purchase I've ever made on amazon, the colors are beautiful but no shams and the smell of mildew is over powering, and does not come out after after several washes .. very disappointing purchase!!!!

I love he patchwork but even though I bought a king size it does not completely cover my bed. IIt only goes half way down the side of my mattress and leaves my sheet exposed. Also some of the patches are already raveling after using it just once.

I'm in bed enjoying my new quilt as I write this. I love it! Along with my new cotton sheets from Utopia, I have been so comfy in my bed. Warning: this quilt makes you not want to get out of bed! Especially now with the cool fall weather here in DC :) The colors are great also, really blends well with the calming shade of green on our bedroom walls and our new blue sheets. Loving it!!!

Very nice quilt. Feels really made. I would have given it five stars but there are two reasons why I didn't: it has a very musty mildew smell, like a basement. Was it kept in a basement for a long period of time prior to being purchased? Also, this quilt isn't sized correctly. I bought a king sized one, glad I did, because it fit just right on my queer bed. So if you're planning to buy this quilt, be sure to size up. If you have a king bed, you might want to keep looking. It would likely not hang long enough on either side of the bed. Other than the smell and size, the actual quilt itself is very nice and good quality. I'm going to have to get it dry cleaned to get rid of the smell.
