They look, feel, smell, & taste fresh; they're soft and moist. The cake is denser than an American pancake but not as dense as a loaf cake & still fluffy; it's sweet too. There is enough filling; might have 1 bite that's a little lacking depending on how the filling shifted in transit but the rest of the bites I took had a good balance of filling to cake with a little extra filling in the center. The filling isn't too sweet, so it's closer to traditional I think as I've had more Americanized red bean treats that were too sugary. A good price for the size. Very filling too, as I expect from a Japanese snack.

We've ordered these before. My wife loves them. They're the best brand. Always fresh, always good.

As the American that I am, I had no idea what this was going to taste like. I saw this filling was very popular in Asian desserts and it has been featured in Japanese media. I bought this to get some idea of what it's like.This dessert in particular was very soft, like pancakes. The flavor is not what I expected---it has this light vanilla flavor and the texture is like peanut butter, but not utterly pureed into a paste. I could still feel the bean 'shells'. It was different, but not unpleasant.I'd suggest this for anymore who doesn't like overly sweet things. It's not bursting with flavor like I had expected, but I think that's apart of it's charm. It's a mild flavor of vanilla.

Delicious! It arrived in a timely manner, and was well packaged. I also appreciated that each treat, is individually wrapped, as to fully preserve freshness. As for the taste and texture… it was quite soft and not at all dry. I somewhat expected a dryer pancake, but it was pleasantly satisfying. The filling of red bean, seemed sufficient as well. Not too much nor too little. This is a great and convenient snack to devour while driving, running late, or in-between meetings or classes. Already reordered my second pack! I fear they may not last till Tuesday’s arrival. 😅

I really just wanted to try dorayaki. These are soft, fresh and have a great taste. Unfortunately, they also have a kind of "manufactured" taste as well, as if they weren't baked but rolled off a line. You feel it not while you're eating it but after. That might not really make sense, but I suppose it's the difference between buying a store-bought cookie and buying them from a bakery/making them yourself. As some other people have said, it would have been nice to have more filling as well. Since I've never tried these before, I still enjoyed them overall.
