The perfect replacement for the one that I had that lasted near 13 years. This is so easy to use, so easily programable and works very well. You should let it charge for a bit before setting it up, which isn't a problem in the least, I was up and running by the first night I needed my porch lights to turn on. I love this timer! Easy to program, versatile, and works great. I had it set up in a couple minutes. I’ve had it about a month now for my lamp in my living room. I’ve been using the preset evening setting - sunset to 12 am. I had to first set the sunset time for my location and it adjusts the sunset time daily. There is a led by each option button to indicate which one you are using at a glance. My favorite feature is the on/off override button on the top, which not all similar models have. It allows me to turn my lamp on or off any time I want without altering the running program or messing with the lamp. It has a battery back up, so it never needs to be reset after a power outage. The timer when plugged in doesn’t block the second wall outlet. I love that when I go out, I never come home to a dark house anymore. I used to forget to leave a light on when going out. You can set up a different program for each day if you want, it is very customizable. This timer has it all! Order it, you will not be disappointed!

Really easy timer to use - programming is with an up arrow/down arrow to cycle through the hour and minute settings. It even has an internal backup in case of power outage (not sure how long the backup lasts, but I've lost power for 4+ hours in the past and the programming was still saved when the power came back on).*IMPORTANT REMINDER* when programming, make sure the yellow LED lights next to the ON TIME and OFF TIME buttons are lit, as that will show your programmed times are set.I already have one of these which I use daily - bought these for my parents and the settings are so simple the instruction pamphlet isn't even needed unless you want to do something fancy.Added bonuses are preset buttons for 5PM-12AM, 5AM-8AM, an "all night" button for 6PM-6AM and a simple button on the top if you want to temporarily override the timer to manually turn your plugged-in item on and off.Keep in mind the timer doesn't accept grounded (3 prong) plugs. If it did, it would certainly earn a 5 star easily.

I bought this timer to replace the annoying and not accurate old style kind, where you have to insert the tabs. Our old one was at least 30 years old and had stopped working. I'm not a techy person so I like to keep things as simple as possible, when it comes to buttons and electronics. The nice thing about this one, is that it has some pre-programmed settings that you can use, but also you can customize it. I just followed the manual and it was super easy to customize my settings. I've adjusted the time on this since the days are getting longer and it was very easy to change. I would recommend this product to others and would buy again.

This is such a great timer - easy to use instructions with short learning curve. My only problem with it is that I sometimes want to use the override button (which is great, by the way) which is located on the top of it. But, if I bump the front with my thumb or fingers, it can hit one of the buttons and then I need to reset it. So, just be mindful not to touch the front of it after you have it set up. I have mine connected to my aquarium where I give my plants a siesta mid-day. I have it set to go on at 6am, off at noon, back on at 4pm and off at 9pm. I was able to do this with the additional timer options. In case you have trouble finding it, the override button is on top. Sometimes I want the light off, if I'm watching a video. By using the override button, it turns the lights off, but they will come on again the next time they're supposed to, without having to do anything. Really great feature. I came back to buy another one, and I may buy even more. Exceptional value here. Don't hesitate to buy it.

I like to have a lamp turn on/off in a cabin in a piece of vacation property, and have had poor luck with simple mechanical timers and with ones that try to turn on based on the ambient light level in the room. I've been testing this electronic timer for a few weeks now, and am finding that it keeps accurate time, and I just verified that it handled the daylight savings shift just fine. I very much appreciate being able to turn on the lamp a fixed number of minutes after sunset, and with a battery (capacitor really I guess?) inside, hopefully it will handle power outages well as well. We get those, so ... we'll see on that one still.It's already much better than other options I've tried. I did find the programming to be a little tricky. It's documented fine, there are just seemingly plenty of options along the way to screw it up (or were for clumsy me anyway), but a little testing of the results and paying attention and I've got it set up just fine. It's worth the modest programming complexity.No idea how well this will work over a period of years rather than just weeks, but at this point I'm feeling very good about this unit.

Yes, it works as advertised and is easy to program. Plus you can set it to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise; the most important feature ever!!

Most of all it had a backup Battery in it to keep the time settings when there is a power failure. This is my main reason for buying the units..

I ordered a 2-pack a little while ago, and one unit was defective, the LCD display was barely visible, I figure it froze during transport as it was still cold outside. Amazon replaced the two units at no cost, but I had to pay for the return shipping cost because there is no Purolator outlet in my small town, and it's free return for courier drop-off only. From now on I know that if I order an item from Amazon and it's defective it's going to cost me to return it... which is disappointing. But the working units work well, so far.
