A Lot of Ins, A Lot Of Outs, And A Lot of What Have Yous
The only issue I have with this collection is that this IS NOT A 101 book. More like a 404. This book really ties the movie together and really takes you down the rabbit hole at the same time. For a 101 I would suggest 1) Watch the movie at least twice and 2) Read the book by Jenny M. Jones, "The Big Lebowski, An Annotated History of the Greatest Cult Film of All Time". That being said, This is a collection of essays by Dudeist Priests of The Church of The Latter Day Dude and as such they have really deconstructed the details of the Universe using the Big Lebowski as Rabbis would use the Torah. All in all, If you're "In the know" in regards to the greatest movie ever blathered, you're in for a wild ride. Some smarter fellas than myself have compiled a golden collection. So, grab a couple of Oat Sodas or a Caucasian, do a jay and enjoy the ride.

Not good.
I have enjoyed most of the books about the Big Lebowski but this one I did not. The academic essays were more of a word salad with no substance. A couple were worth the time to read but this book overall was a waste of money.

Cult and beyond classic
In-depth over thought greatness of the Big LebowskiIt’s social indirect impact on life and how we intertwine in the fabric of it all is truly amazing to say the least.

Abide.
Great over analysis of an overt stoner film with covert (and sometimes not so covert) social commentary. To me The Big Lebowski has the greatest dialogue of any film I've ever seen. The Dude has taught me the way, the wu wei to be exact. I've never looked back. Tank abides, man:)

Great insights into The Dude
A few of the essays get a bit too clinical, but overall a great read. Truly recommend it for any achiever

Unacceptable production and customer service values
Printed digitally in black and white on cheap paper, the book is over-intellectualised (Dude...) and the offer to receive the ebook for free seems to be invalid outside the US.I was charged for the ebook when I bought the paper copy, and when I emailed the publisher to challenge this, they have not responded.Unacceptable (and I say that as an indie publisher myself).
