Use a multimeter to determine your application.
I bought this product to allow me to use my paddle shifters in my car. The car's transmission controller needs to see the circuit close. The directions are not that helpful but with the help of my multimeter I was able determine that for a normally open circuit i needed to use the blue and green wires. the red and black are for power and ground to illuminate the switch.
