The clamp is too insubstantial.
The clamp is too insubstantial for the weight of the lamp. When extended it would fall. Eventually, after less than a year, the weld failed. :(( Too expensive and awkward to return, or I would.

This a great lamp! I haven't owned it for too long, but so far it works perfectly for my needs. I do a lot of graphite drawings and I work on a desk that is 40 in. x 28 in. (~ 101 cm x 71 cm). It easily reaches everywhere I need it. I have read in past reviews not to over tighten the adjustment knobs and I agree 100%. I work as a photographer and a lot of gear I own have similar type knobs. Just tighten them as much as needed and no more otherwise they'll wear out. This lamp actually stays put with very little force on the knobs. I'm going to try and remember to review it again after about a years use. Great product so far!
