A year later and my chins just perch on it. I don’t believe they figured out what the wheel does or even bothered to try.

Love love love this saucer exerciser! Perfect size for an adult hedgehog. My hedgie has gone through 2 of the plastic versions in the last couple of years and they have always made horrible squeaking/grinding noises (even when they were brand new). This metal version barely makes a whisper as he runs - often the only way I know that he has used it is by the mess of droppings on it. Construction seems very sturdy, no wobbling or flimsy parts, in fact it is pretty heavy for its size. Clean up is much easier than on the plastic too; lay a soapy wet paper towel on it to soak, and in just a few minutes it will wipe clean without scrubbing. Price seemed a little high to me till I actually saw the quality, and now I wish I had just spent that in the beginning and saved myself the price of the plastic ones.

The media could not be loaded.  I loved the fact that it was a great high quality wheel made of metal. Only downside is that it’s not completely silent though I may have misread ans it’s not on completely sturdy which is why it makes noise but it’s not an unbearable sound

I had to use weather stripping and put steps on it for my hedgie because she was running sideways on it and falling off on her bootie [laughing hysterically emoji] (although hilarious, it wasn't good for exercise). I saw a picture in another review of one with foam weather strips attached and wondered why; it was an EXCELLENT IDEA! At no time did I fear for her safety when she struggled trying to get the hang of running on it, all the same [smiley face emoji]. Once the strips were on she ran and ran. This is VERY sturdy as well! Impressed. Thanks!!

There is no way to connect it to the cage for additional safety. This has not been much of an issue, as it is too small for our chins to actually run on. When the do use it, they pretty much just jump to it and let it rock. I really don't think it would be loud, and moves smoothly; it's just too small and would be better with a safety attachment.

I have 2 wild rescue rats and got tired of buying those plastic exercise wheels for $21.00,,bought 3 they wore them out so fast. This one hold up great and doesn't make any noise when they run on it.

My Sugargliders love running on this wheel and don't chew it.

I’ve bought many different styles of saucers an wheels for my kids little furball this one is the best i will never buy any other brand or model again we will stick with this one I highly recommend this saucer
