I'm ok at putting electronics together and This was easy enough to do and worked flawlessly
I'm ok at putting electronics together and This was easy enough to do and worked flawlessly. Every time I read a bad review, it's from someone who screwed up taking it apart and putting it back together. This is the third time I've had to replace an iphone screen and every time the replacement one worked with no problems. My girlfriend drops her phone a lot....seriously...The first time I replaced a screen, I used the iCracked one because I was scared of the cheapness of the generic ones and the bad reviews. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep shelling out the big bucks every time she dropped her phone. I took a chance on the cheaper ones, and I'm glad I did. I saved a lot of money and it works perfect.

Great, functional screen at affordable price
Great screen replacement, make sure you buy the proper tools for it. The screen is easy to replace as long as you familiarize yourself with videos on how to replace the screen. With some help from videos, my screen was replaced in under an hour and has been working perfectly now for over a week. I have ordered from professional repair sites before and this screen's quality is the same. A great screen for a great price.A word of advice--if you see bars on your screen, go back and check that all your ribbon cables are properly connected. I had bars over the lower half of my screen that went away when I made sure the ribbon cables were all securely connected!

Great Replacement! Would recommend to anyone with a broken display.
OVERALL:I'm glad my display worked on the first try. I was timid about buying this due to reviews of some people saying theirs was shipped dead or malfunctioning. I felt relieved when the seller sent an email before it arrived saying if anything was wrong with the display she would take care of it and exchange for another one. She also included a link to a good youtube video showing how to replace the part along with links to photos of common mistakes people make during installation. You can't go wrong with buying this display as a replacement for a shattered screen. Even if the kit doesn't work or you can't figure it out, the ~$40 price tag of this kit makes it worthwhile to try before going thru insurance, Apple, or a mall repair shop.DISPLAY:The display is adequate and is a good replacement for the original and you can't beat the price. LCD + digitizers for any other smart phone are ridiculous expensive. I looked around and all the iphone 5s displays online seemed to be after market. You can't buy Apple OEM parts. Other places had more expensive displays, but there was no indication they were of any better quality. The home button doesn't sit as flush as the original display, it is recessed a bit, but I have read it is a common problem. I have also used other people's iphone 5s with repaired displays and they all have the same issue. The display comes pretty well protected with a cover over the glass to prevent scratches during installation and an aftermarket screen protector for the front and back of the phone, it was a nice bonus to have them shipped with the kit.TOOLS AND REPLACEMENT:The process took me about 3-4 hours and that was knowing nothing, watching some videos, and going thru the procedure. I feel like I could maybe get it done in under an hour if I had to do it again, and if you were replacing these all the time you could probably get it down to 30 mins with the right tools. The display ships with tools and they were of good quality, but weren't enough to do the entire job.The included pentalobe screwdriver is a must. I wouldn't want to buy one of these separately as I'm pretty sure this iphone is the only thing it will ever be used for.The phillips screwdriver was adequate, but I ended up using a 1.6MM precision phillips I had. Some of the screws were stubborn. The suction cup didn't do much because the screen was too shattered. I ended up using a utility razor blade, the ones that look like a trapezoid for retractable knifes, to pry open the display. I don't like using metal tools, but I watched a video of a guy using one for this application and it will work. I also used some guitar picks I had that were thinner to aid in opening the case. When replacing the display, it is helpful to have something to temporarily jam in between the display and the case as the display is pried off.The plastic tool that is included is pretty good at prying off and pushing down connectors, but it would be nice if the other end of the tool was a pointy stick. One end of the tool is a pry/wedge and the other is just a handle. The plastic tool is of better quality than I have received from other cell phone display kits. I used a long metal file I had as a stick tool, but I'm not a fan of using metal tools on cell phones. I've had bad experiences. It's harder to mess up or break something with plastic tools. The kit includes a piece of 3M tape that has a unique custom stencil cut that looks like it is supposed to go somewhere, but I didn't see where and non of the videos mentioned it.There is also a weird tool that is metal, small, oval in shape, with a pointy stick on one end. I found it helpful to use when reattaching the metal clasp that holds down the home button ribbon cable. Replacing that clasp is a pain, but that tool made it easier. I could use the pointy end to position the clasp, then the oval portion to push the clasp down.

Excellent Replacement Screen for 5S
This screen is exactly what it says it is, It is a direct replacement for the OEM 5S screen. The only minor difference I found with this unit is the Camera keeper isn't there, I ripped it off my old screen and attached it to the new one. The keeper keeps the camera centered in the hole when moving over the components. I have been using this screen for a couple of weeks, there are no dead pixels, and the color and contrast looks identical to the original. On some cheaper displays you can see a finger mark when you press down hard in the LCD when they use substandard glass, this display does not show any of the qualities of a cheap product.

Warning: Glass separated from plastic bezel in weeks.
I bought this as a replacement for a cracked iPhone 5S screen. The fit was fine, but it was missing some of the details that the how-to that I was following on ifixit.com (an excellent walk-thru). No matter, I just cannibalized the old screen in a few steps.A couple of weeks later, the plastic bezel around the glass begins to separate! And it just gets worse! The display & glass were fine, but I had to replace it in a couple of months because it became unusable. I'm no pro, but I've done quite a few for my friends and this screen was poor quality! I can't recommend this one.

Well, it works!
It works!(My prior screen was replaced at a screen repair shop. This screen started separating from the bezel and frame, and eventually became unresponsive. What a waste!)This is my second screen purchased from Amazon. First from this seller. My other purchase had defective, dead pixels and the digitizer only seemed to respond about half the time. I sent that back in a hurry. This screen's response is great, and it seems clearer than the previous replacement from "wisdom123".I have two complaints though. One, though I knew it was a lie, I wish the "manufacturer" wouldn't say OEM, because it's clearly not. This is not my main reason for 3* though. The screen has a definite yellow tint to it. My wife compared her iphone 5 to my 5s and there is a noticeable difference...even on the same brightness setting. Definitely a let down.Overall value is definitely there. $30 for a DIY screen instead of $100 for a repair place.
