Cat is addicted to these. Over several years, these are his favorite go-to toy. Lots of pounces, jumps and talking with these. Great way to get him the stimulation he wants and needs, even at age 16. The size is just right and these will only last long if you don't let them chew on it. If you leave it sitting at any time, the cat may "eat" it and you'll need a new one too soon for what it costs.

I have two cats, and they enjoy playing. One is a runner and will chase almost anything you throw/swing, the other is a hunter and will stalk the stick toys waiting to pounce. When I say they both went absolutely nuts over these mousey rats, I'm not exaggerating. My cat begs to play with it every day, it has sparked a joy that he hasn't had over a new toy in quite some time. The rat certainly has an ick factor, it has strands of hair which look like real animal fur. Apparently it has a good "mouth feel" for the cats, because serious chomps and tug of war commenced as soon as they got it in their mouth. These poor mice can't withstand much rough play, specifically hard tugging/pulling, so having multiple on hand is a good idea. They are a bit expensive for how quickly the first one unraveled, but they are very effective so on balance I would likely purchase more products from this brand in the future.

I dont know how the makers of Da Bird and Da Rat do it but they know just the way to design toys so that my cat goes bonkers. I have a bengal with a strong prey drive (is driven by play) and when we opened this she immediately took to it. Cue an hour of her jumping hyper hunting focus as we moved Da Rat around on the pole. She was panting but continued to play for another hour. We finally put it away and cue the loud Maos and complaints that we only stopped by playing another hour. At the end of the night - she was very upset that we stopped and saw it was time for sleep. Definitely a 10/10 - never seen my cat in such a primordial state of being. I caution on the durability - with any toy your cat is taken to - it is just good practice to hide it away and supervise. I dont trust my cat with the leather tail. She will chew it off and swallow it. Therefore I inspect it before every play session and trim it if its already wearing through. This and Da Bird are definitely her favorites. I’ll continue to use them in rotation to maintain interest.

My cat’s favorite toy and will continue to buy again and again! We got a 3-pack and use one on a string toy, and the other two she can play with on her own. She carries them around from room to room and keeps herself entertained for so much longer than any other toy (even the ones infused with catnip/silvervine)! Definitely is best on non-carpeted floors so your kitties can bat it around. However, do watch your kitty if they play aggressively and put it away when you can’t supervise since ours shred one up after about a week of non-stop play which didn’t stop her and she got covered in the toy’s “fur”. It is durable, but if you have an avid hunter, they will find a way to tear any toys apart, and the size and feel of this toy triggers their hunting instincts until it is destroyed (which is exactly why we bought it).

looks much more realistic as a rat/mouse than any other brand I've seen. my cat loves them. it's not attached to a bell which is a plus.

Pros - Both cats so enjoy Da Rat, but our male cat loves Da Rat. My male cat won't stop thinking about it. We have to play with him and the rat multiple times a day. Neither cat gets tired of it after using it 3 months. But they are both pretty obsessed with it. I love how both cats get lots of exercise chasing it around on the fishing pole we have and are not bored! Con's - My cat won't stop thinking about it. He will tire himself out until he is panting, so we have to hide it from him to stop playing or he might just drop dead. He nags us all the time to play. We can't leave him alone with it or he will eat it. We must hide it all the time, unlike all the other toys they get tired of. He did eat it one time and threw it up, so I'm careful not to accidentally leave it out.

We have a Da wand and change out the attachments frequently for our cat's enrichment. They love them all. That wand is Da bomb and is made so Da well. Since they like furry things, I thought these rats would be a fun diversion. I especially liked the idea that there are no tiny button eyes to swallow. We first put one on Da wand for a kitten that was having a vacation at our home to play with. He went positively feral. He chomped down on the rat and wouldn't stop growling at it. He got so wound up that his sides started heaving. It was hysterical! (See pics) Next, our two senior cats. Our female prefers Da attachments that fly and flutter like birds. Our male likes ground dwelling type hunts. Da rats are perfect for him. He plays rat on Da wand several times a week and never gets bored. He'll actually stand up and hop to grab it; no easy feat for a 15 or old. One bit of caution: put them up until you can play with your cats. They will make the whole thing disappear!

My one year old cat Archie is OBSESSED with this mouse attachment. I have to buy these about every other month since he tears them apart from how hard he plays with them. He loves to play fetch with the mouse (stick and all) and will do so for HOURS. Highly recommend this line of toys for anyone with active kitties who like to play. My only complaint is that the thread that comprises the body does shed like crazy as the mouse starts to fall apart from strenuous play.
