THE percussion people
My maracas were cracked and useless from decades of abuse and I needed some shakers on a project. This is perfect for all styles. I love the smooth, lite shimmering sound of this shaker. Extremely functional, this shaker is all I need. Beautiful sound. Meinl proves they’re the ones to beat in percussive tones. Just perfect. Fun! The tube fits so easily in a hand and you can get variations in how you hold and shake it. Meinl forever!

Nice shaker for the money
Nice shaker. Takes a little technique to make it work, but it has a nice sound and a good dynamic range. I like this shaker a lot.

Great sound!
This makes great sound. It is very large for the hand but has a great sound.I might buy the medium for hand fit but didn't want to return this one cause the sound is great!Great quality for the price. I use these in Sunday night worship.

Big egg shaker rain stick hybrid
Never played one of these, but I love it. It's a maraca, rain stick, and egg shaker all in one. It's fun trying to manipulate the flow of the beads in the shaker in creative ways. I think it'd do well in educational settings as well.

Love the sound
I use this in church during Praise and Worship. It's a small church and I sit in the middle, so it is gently heard by those around.

Decent, but Not what I had hoped
This seems fairly sturdy, though i imagine if i dropped it or banged it against something, the plastic shell would crack pretty easily. I don't like that it's just one formed piece of plastic for the shell.. i much prefer metal tube with plastic ends. The sound on this is very dark, plastic-y.. not high and crisp. It kind of sounds like shaking a box of cereal or something. Not that quintessential shaker tone I was hoping for. It's also very large and lound.. which would probably be great in a batucada, or salsa band.. but definitely not for coffee-house type gigs.Wishing I had a longer return window.. but.. not the worst purchase.. decent.
