Williams-Sonoma Essentials of Roasting: Recipes and techniques for delicious oven-cooked meals

This book I one of about 4 I have ordered in the last week and I just got it today. Some details about roasting, but even better some recipes that are varied and somewhat more simple with ingredients than some of the other books I have ordered. Thats ok too........ I have ordered several books on maybe one particular topic like roasting, some will be more detailed about the equipment and various techniques and some have recipes that are more detailed and maybe slightly complicated because they involve cooking with wines or some ingredients that I don't normally use. Adding this book to the stack makes it perfect. For a beginner cook just starting to learn to roast this is a perfect book and I would highly recommend it. I like the color pictures this book displays. I was really impressed with this book as sometimes Williams Sonoma books can be more for the fancier chefs or professionals where this one fits my style perfect. Recipes using spices that will be an easy find and most don't require a lot of cooking with different types of wines. This is just what I was looking for and can't wait to try some of the recipes out. I can master these and move on to some of the other books about roasting that I have purchased!!!!

The William Sonoma Roasting Cookbook is a great tool for people like me who are trying to learn how to prepare a delicious special meal for friends and family, especially for a special occasion. As always in their cookbooks, the illustrations and photos are superb. A whole meal plan is presented, giving you the opportunity to prepare a well coordinated meal, or substitute your favorite or desired replacement dish. So far, the Crown Rib Roast has proven itself a great launch point in exploring the book. it was delicious, and the wild rice side dish enhanced the overall meal. Great buy for the special price I got thru Amazon.

Not much new here. I enjoy reading and frequently use cook books from Williams-Sonoma. Uncomplicated recipes that turn out well. I was a little disappointed in this one. It will end up being a gift for someone who is a little less critical. They'll be happy to have it.

If you want one resource to learn what you need to succeed, this is a great one. My adult kids each wanted one for their own homes, and that says a lot.

Nice to find this book available. There were spots on the bottom edges of the book that had to be cleaned. being a meat cookbook, who knows what the spots were but didn't look good. I went online to find a cleaning solutions which was to lightly sand the edges. It took most stains away. The stains were not shown on the preview before purchase.
