Got the job done.

So, I replaced my roof with a different color shingle, and since my shutters matched the roof, they all had to be taken down and re-painted. My shutters are vinyl and are held up with spikes just like these. Unfortunately, these things have ridges so once they go in, they are very difficult to pull out, and you cannot re-use them again. I had to order quite a few bags of these because I had lots of windows, and each shutter had six pegs holding it in, so it cost a pretty penny. On the plus side, the heads of the spikes were easy to paint to match the shutters. I reused the old holes in the siding, so everything went in the exact same place very easily. We used a rubber mallet wrapped in a soft cloth to tap the spikes in so as not to mar the paint on the spikes or shutters, and that worked well. All in all, they did exactly what they were supposed to do, so I am very happy with the purchase.

These sturdy shutter pegs arrived quickly, and with a cute packaging insert which was fun for something so utilitarian! I bought the paintable screws as I was re-painting my old vinyl shutters and needed the color to match. These pegs were very easy to paint—poked holes in a box, stuck the number of pegs needed (plus a few extra) in partway, then spray painted—and the color stayed beautifully when installing them into the shutters/house (note that I did use a rubber hammer with a piece of cloth between just to be safe). The shutters and pegs are all up now and look brand new; such a simple way to upgrade my home. Highly recommend these pegs.

Perfect replacement pegs for our shutters. When you take down your vinyl shutters to paint, you have to replace the pegs when you put them back up. These were perfect and once in place, easy to paint. Delivery was actually two days sooner than we expected.
