Five Stars
Beautiful. But besides how it looks, it also performs extremely well. I haven't tried a lot of different chains, but between a handful of 4 bikes I currently have access to riding, I feel like this chain provides a noticeable boost in efficiency of power transfer from the crank to the wheels. Of course a lot of other pieces on the bike go into that. One of the bikes I'm comparing to, for example, has an omnium crankset and a decent stiff frame. So I can only assume either the chain or the wheels are making the difference, and I'm inclined to think it's the chain.Another thing I like about this chain is that the master link has a flathead screw to unlock it, you don't have to use those special chain pliers to take it apart. Just unscrew the pin on the master link and it comes apart.I wish for aesthetics the master link was also "gold" plated instead of black. The black makes it easier to find but looks slightly off. I lined mine up so it goes behind the crank arm when it reaches the chainring, anyway.Overall though I'd say it's definitely worth the upgrade over a normal $10-20 chain. I'm probably going to buy a few more of these for my other single speed bikes

master link is tight
Difficult to keep the master link from binding without leaving the nut loose. I have been riding my track bike on my rollers with this chain after replacing the KMC. KMC was definitely smoother with the Miche front chain ring and the Phil Wood cog. I loosened the nut and put a drop of threadlocker on the threads. Still stiff. I even bought the 'fancy' Runwell Fixer chain tool to help reduce the torque I apply to the screw. Not impressed with this master link design. May be better with another master link.

Beautiful, Quiet, Smooth, TOUGH, durable.
This chain is beautiful, quiet, smooth and TOUGH.Built for track racers in Japan and certified for their use, this chain is a very high quality chain. (And it's NJS-approved. NJS stands for 'Nihon Jitensha Shinkokai,' Japan's Keirin-racing organization.)I run single speed with a flip flop. Most of the time I freewheel, but I run fixed, too. I am on a never-ending quest for the perfectly quiet bike. This chain is a little expensive, but worth every penny. It is stealthy silent! It is pure joy to pound pedals and watch this beautiful chain drive the rear wheel on the road. Most of the time the only sound I hear is the wind in my face. The chain also looks nice with a subtle gold and black pattern.MUCH better quality than the KMC chains- which I used to run until I found this one.I searched everywhere to find a better chain and I could not find one.UPDATE: 1250 miles later and the chain is like new. I keep reading forums of people using $20 KMC chains that last 500-600 miles. Get this one- it's worth it- like new after 1000+ miles, looks great, runs smooth, and less hassle of having to constantly change chains.

Izumi Super Toughness Chain
Best chain ever for track/fixie. Too bad it is a little bit pricey, but well worth it. I have had the chain on my Fuji Track Classic for almost 6 months now with little stretch. I am glad I do not have to worry too much about a broken chain with this Izumi Super Toughness Chain. It is certified for use by the NJS.

seems overpriced BUT crazy smooth-and likely way more durable than typical chains.
This chain seems overpriced BUT it is crazy smooth; and -per reports from high mileage users, is likely way more durable than typical chains.
