Holds up to standard
Good light weight trekking pole tent. Was unsure how it would hold up with weather dropping into the low 20s at night and windy. Had less moisture inside tent than was expected when I woke up which was nice. Cant beat this for the price, definitely recommend!

Amazing tent, awesome price, and lightweight
I got this tent as a gift, and it is absolutely amazing! I have no idea how River County can produce such a sturdy, roomy and lightweight tent for only 60 dollars, which makes you wonder why people are willing to pay the outrageous prices charged by the larger companies like Big Agnes. This tent is super easy to set up, when I was on the trail I just used two sticks for my poles and the supplied guylines and stakes. Once inside the tent there is more than enough room for two people, I think most other manufacturers would consider this a "3 person" tent.I had sunny skies on the trail, so the tent only served to keep out the bugs, but I did test its ability to keep out water with a hose test in the backyard. I set it up in lawn and put the sprinklers on for about 15 minutes. I subjected this tent to downpour of water and it stayed bone dry inside as you can see from the photos. The water beaded up after I turned the sprinklers off which is exactly what you want to see when testing for a tents water resistance. Also, my tent came seem sealed and waterproofed. Based on some the earlier reviews I'm guessing that this wasn't the case with earlier versions of the tent which may account for why some people reported it as being very "leaky". But as I stated before, the tent I got in 2020 held up very well under the sprinklers in the back yard.

Updated (not fully) version w/ no seam sealer: survived storm w no leaks, amazing bargain & quality
I was hesitant to get this version after they had such severe issues with one of their recent batches, and hadn't yet fixed all the problems they mentioned in the description. However, the temporary fix they implemented seems to work very well already.I took this tent out for a weekend camping trip just to test it out before my trip to the AT.I wasn't able to apply any seam sealer like they recommended for this version due to some unexpected rainfall as we were setting up (Thank you GA weather)Thankfully my first time setting up was a breeze (didn't need to bother with instructions because it was too dark) and I was ready for bed before the rain got worse. To my suprise, there wasn't a single drop of condensation or water leakage in my tent in the morning.I'm not sure if Amazon shipped a fully updated version or if the fix was simply sufficient enough, but regardless I am very pleased with this purchase!I had just the right amount of space for myself and my gear.I might get a footprint since river country sells one for really cheap and its my first time on the AT, but overall I have alot of confidence in this product (lots of good reviews regarding their customer service as well). And for only $40!! I already recommended it to all my other hiking friendsI am not sure what other changes they will make for the $59.99 version, but I am very curious to see what they bring out.To River Country Products:I would happily pay more for a version that had the following features as it would be the perfect tent imo:- opening on both sides (front and back)- vestibules- side walls that could also be rolled up for added ventilation.Trekker 2.3 perhaps?? :)

Well made, lightweight tent.
Love this tent. I have it and the 4-person version from River Country Products. My favorite thing about this tent is that it is a simple one-piece design. You don't have to get the trekking poles and I don't bring anything to prop it up in the woods. I just lash it to two trees! The tent bottom is a thick bathtub material. The mesh is pretty durable, I haven't had it get a cut or tear yet. I have not used it in heavy rain, but in high humidity I can stay it stands up well. I live in Kentucky which is very humid pretty much all the time. I woke up in this tent without a layer of moisture inside the tent, which is a plus. It also dried fairly quickly after the morning dew. I also like the classic A-frame design. I'm not sure why A frame tents have come out of use. I know that they are still popular in the bushcraft community. The A design naturally drives the rain away from the center of the tent, which is most important. The only issue I have is that the steams are fairly well made, but would not stand up to heavy wear. I would expect to have to repair the seams at some point.

This Is The Trekking Pole Tent You're Looking For
I was planning a trip to the Sierras and needed a lightweight, trekking pole tent. I found several options that would easily blow my budget, and one (semi) affordable trekking pole tent from a "name brand" outdoor company that got terrible reviews, so I took a chance on the River Country Products 2.2 Tent. I just got back and need to report that this tent is truly great! You may be dubious, as I was, but this tent is exactly as promised. It IS light weight. It IS easy to set up. It IS shipped to you folded down to the size of a football (I still need help getting it that small, but without tent poles, it's still a manageable size) I hosed it down in my backyard for 10 minutes on the day I received it, and was delighted to find no leaks, though I still sprayed it down with Kiwi as a precaution.I opted to get the 2.2 tent because I was sharing the tent with my wife and was concerned about condensation. The mesh walls provided great ventilation and the tent was dry on the inside as well. There is space for two average size humans (I'm 6'1, 165lbs, she's 5'9 and 110lbs), and minimal gear (we left our packs and water outside).I am a little bummed that the 2.2 doesn't come with the heavier tarpaulin bathtub floor like the 2.0, but this is a minor quibble. For the price, this tent is unbeatable.

Excellent lightweight hiking tent
Very light, well made tent, I use it as a one person tent with space for gear inside. Vented sides are very good for minimising condensation from wet gear and indeed allow a certain amount of drying, although this does mean the tent is not suitable for very cold conditions as with any breeze at all there is a through draft. The tent has proved robust in strong wind, with the 'triangle' pegs holding the tent in place even in quite soft ground. No problem with water ingress except when I pitched on very soggy grass with soft clay under, where a certain amount of water came through the floor where compressed by body weight, this was not a problem as I use a waterproof ultralight air mattress. I think this is a great tent for distance hiking.

Great tent!
I purchased this product because my bf and I ride a motorcycle and wanted something that we could fit into our saddlebags for overnight mini trips. This item didn't disappoint. It is compact, easy to set up , take down and pack away. The vents on the side are amazing for airflow on a warmer night and when closed keep it nice and warm. It fit the two of us very comfortably. We are both approximately 6 feet tall. Seems to be well made and it is waterproof. We have used it on a night when it rained lightly and in a crazy windy heavy downpour. No issues at all. Definitely worth every penny.

Perfect Hiking tent
I researched long and hard before purchasing my 1st hiking tent and I'm glad I got this one.The tent is lightweight, very, very quick to set up (less than 5 minutes), very quick to dissemble and pack up again (less than 10 minutes). The quality is excellent all the way through from the tent's material to the zips used to the aluminum stakes (was able to hammer these in with a rock into hard packed sand and gravel. Stakes didn't bend or brake)Comfortably fits 2 people and still had plenty of space between us.While there was condensation on the inside after the 1st nights use, this wasn't surprising as two adults inside and the outside temp was 4 degrees Celsius so a little cold. Also purchased the River Country Products Open Air Trekker Tent Shelter to use the ground sheet as a foot print and it worked exceptionally well, sized the exact as the tent. The Rain Fly was used with a hammock. If your looking for a light weight hiking tent get this one.
