As Expected
Good quality. Easy to install (I had to customize the installation little but my flume was not custom sized). Happy.

Sturdy Quality Chimney Cap
I bought two of the SST covers chimney caps. They look to be very sturdy and had no issues with installation. The screws were SST and the threads were deep enough to hold the screw torque. I felt the hood thickness was sufficient (not super sturdy, but certainly not flimsy). Welds were good quality and mesh gave the hood stability.I would order again.

I hope the spot welds that secure roof cap hold up over time. I see many steel caps on chimneys that have the tops have blown off, likely from rust and high winds over time; that's why I choose stainless steel. Would have preferred the roof panel was secured to mesh with a few through bolts, but this can be done by you prior to install.

and looks like it will last for a long time
This item shipped quickly, fit well, and looks like it will last for a long time. There are some legs that go with these chimney caps, and I probably would have ordered them too, but it wasn't very clear how they attach or why you might need them, until you install it- I think it will be fine without them, but I would have liked to have seen more information before I purchased it.

A simple device to protect you from pesky squirrels building nests in your chimney when you only have occassional burns.
My flue is 8" x 10" firebrick with beveled corners. The cap screen bends inwards at the bottom, sitting on the top of the flue, to ensure that the cap sits level and to stop animals squeezing between the flue and the solid bottom band. The four bolts both position the cap, side to side and front to back, when all are screwed in equally and secure the cap from blowing off in high winds (gusts to 60mph).

Good value
For the cost, this was worth it. I had to bend the screen a tad to get it level on my clay pipe, but not a big deal. The cap is solid, but relies on a series of tack welds, which attach the screen directly to the top. Time will tell.

As advertised.
Ordered the stainless cap for a 13x9 opening. Fit perfectly. Would follow one other reviewers advice and drill a hole in the clay flue to help keep the cap set. Construction appears well built. Of course the proof will be in the first Florida thunderstorm!! Took ten minutes to install.
