Light weight and capable
I've been using this trimmer for 3 years and continue to be impressed by it. It's very light weight and easy to use. I don't have hedges but I do have a four acre property and I use this trimmer for a variety of tasks. The battery is long lasting and with my use rarely needs charging. I have a large and heavy Milwaukee hedge trimmer too which is good for bigger jobs, but the Earthwise trimmer is my go to trimmer, the one I grab first.

Heavy and needx more power...
Have been using it for a few weeks and found it to be not to strong. It can cut branches smaller than the max size it is for, but takes some time. For very thin/weak branches it works ok. It needs to be 40Volts. The battery last and charges fast.

Very nice tool
I had a corded Earthwise pole trimmer that gave up the ghost after 7 years. I felt that 7 years is a good lifespan for a much used tool so I decided to stay with this brand and go cordless. That was a good choice. This thing is much lighter than the corded version which is much appreciated as I get older and weaker. So far, the battery life is very good. I was initially concerned that the blade speed wasn't up to what the corded one was but it cut neatly through everything I put in it's way. The only picking point I have with this tool is removing the extension. The spring on the "ball clip" is quite strong and it can be a little difficult to take off. I'm hoping over time that the spring will weaken which will make it much easier. Otherwise, I suggest buying it.

Fantastic best thing I've ever bought to landscape my yard.
I love this. Struggled for many years to cut my top bushes now I'm just a little too old to get up on that 6 foot ladder by myself this has been a godsend it helps me trim and landscape my yard beautifully with ease and little effort!

Barely ok
The trigger takes a lot of force to keep down and the safety is huge and in the way of getting a good grip on the trigger. The tool feels light till you start using it. Wish the cutting action was faster and would be nice if the head pivoted more so you could use it like a weed whacker. On the plus side, battery life if good although it's hard to find which replacement battery to use. Cuts through surprisingly thick branches. Good for trimming small trees. Doesn't do a great job on laurel.I want a nice 2 stroke trimmer but I can't justify the cost. I got this trimmer for cheap because it had been returned as damaged. For the deal I got I'll keep it but if I payed full price I might have returned it too mostly due to the trigger.

With some effort it will get the job done
I would echo some other reviews. It's light weight until you have to hold it up parallel to the ground for more than a few minutes . I was hoping the battery weight would offset the business end, but in order to operate it you must hold it at the battery end and support nearly the entire weight of the machine. It does have great reach and a long cutting blade so will work for my hedges. I just need to do it in 5 minute segments. It does cut, but I have other hand held units that cut better and through larger branches. Charges fast and runs longer than I can use it without tiring.

Not for the weak
The problem with any pole-attached tool is generally the tool weight is out on the end of the pole. This tool will give you an upper arm workout when using full length product. Prior comments will apply to any pole trimmer. This specific tool can be shortened by removing one pole section to make it a lot easier to handle but I mainly need it long for tall bushes and trees.Giving it 5 stars because it cuts very well, can be used at two different lengths, and the battery outlasts me by a good margin. Pivoting head works great and locks securely. Professional landscapers may want an extra battery or two but not me.

Very heavy…but it did the job
It’s one of the lightest on the market as I bought a different brand before and returned due to how heavy it was. This one is still very heavy and awkward to use. You need good arm strength to use this tool. I like that it came with a strap to help support its weight. I like that it cage with a battery. And it as a good price. I wish that the design was different and it wasn’t so heavy! The telescoping part n fed to be easier to change the length of the pole easily. To start it is also awkward pressing on the safety and gripping the handle needs to be changed in terms of finger placement. It kept stopping any time I held it really high…I have a replacement coming so hopefully this isn’t an issue going forward. It cut down what I needed it too but it was not easy at all.
