Had these for about half a year now. We originally bought them because the temperature dial in our freezer is easy to accidentally shift (but hard to read); figured we'd get one for both the freezer and the fridge.They do exactly what they're meant to do, and I prefer this mechanical style to a digital alternative. The hook design works well in the freezer. Less so in the fridge -- I just keep it in the back and glance at it every now and then; sometimes I wind up knocking it over/off the back of the shelf, although it seems to have held up either way.Just like the photos show, they have the safe zones marked for refrigerated/frozen food, so you don't even have to look that closely when checking temps -- it'll be clear if there's something wrong. Nothing fancy, but it doesn't need to be. Good purchase.

it gets hot. The temperature needle goes up. It cools down the temperature. Needle goes down as well. Works just fine. Not the most stable but works just fine.

For years we have had to bake or roast items in the oven much longer than called for in the recipe.I noticed that chefs on a number of TV cooking shows have similar thermostats in the ovens that they use.We religiously use this thermostat to determine the oven temperature at the rack position holding the cooking dish. This approach has made it much easier to align the cooking times and internal dish temperatures with the recipes.We love this simple device! Good value for the price. BTW our very well regarded oven’s middle rack actual temperature is 25 degrees less than the set temperature!

Works well inside fridge. Accurate and easy to read.

This Rubbermaid oven thermometer is easy to read. It has a useful temperature range - the dial starts around room temperature and it actually does work at around room temperature. It responds faster to temperature increases than my older thermometer did.

A gamechanger. I had no idea the temperature dial on our oven was slightly off, that it takes such a long time to preheat to temperature, or that our oven has hot spots. I've compared it with other thermometers, so I'm confident that it's accurate. This thermometer really helps in troubleshooting issues and eliminating an additional variable. Baking/roasting is no longer a random process. We're able to produce better food more reliably now. Definitely worth it!

These thermometer types are only accurate to very wide margins between temperatures (10-15 degree discrepancies at the upper end of the scale), and should alert me visually to any dramatic change in fridge or freezer temp, but they are not capable of accurate temperature readings.
