Makes a Nice Gift.
I like the sleekness and one handedness of Ken Onion Kershaws. I carry my Chive most often because it fits in my watch pocket unobtrusively and meets my light duty needs. Obviously it is not for a fight or for heavy use, but it is easy to keep sharp. I bought the Rainbow model for my wife's purse a couple years ago, the finish has held up well. The opening "click" is always impressive, although it may need a little adjustment/lube from time to time.If you are looking for a knife to cut holes through the hood of your truck or even just to gut your game - I would not recommend this model (or any of the Ken Onions). Kershaw does make some other very nice heavy duty one handed knives though...

Awesome knife. Can't go wrong with a Kershaw.
I love this knife. I actually bought the regular Chive and loved that.....so did my husband. So I gave it to him and went to order another and found the rainbow Chive. Pictures don't do it justice, it's pretty awesome looking. The finish is holding up pretty well so far. I'm really harsh on my tools, I consider my knives as tools, and it's staying nice and sharp, with just a few visible scratches, which is amazing for how many times it's hit the ground, and been used to tap things into place. My EDC is a Kershaw Junk Yard Dog(1720), which I absolutely love. Lately I've started carrying this one also as it's smaller and can get into tighter spots. I use my JYD for the rough stuff and the Chive when brute force isn't the best option.

Great Gift
I gave this knife to my little sister and she loved it. It is well made and beautifully designed. The finish is vibrant and the look is enhanced by its organic shape. The blade is very quick to come out with the flipper and there isn't any play but it is difficult to use with the thumb studs which rest right against the handle when closed. The frame lock is difficult to disengage but I don't mind because of the added security. I don't mind the safety which we don't really use because it is out of the way and stays in the position you leave it in. The handle is smooth and the jimping isn't particularly effective but it is shaped well to prevent slippage. Even though it is a soft steel the 420hc is well done, came sharp and is easy to sharpen although I would have preferred Sandvick. It does come set up for tip down carry which I find annoying. It is also just a little heavy for its size which is what you get with an all steel knife.

Spring assist doesn't work upon arrival
Knife will not fully open with the spring assist, I have to push it open for the remainder of opening. Also was dull upon arrival, & did not receive a metal gift box tin.

poorly made
I carry it but don't like it, blade comes out on it's own. It is sharp though and I like that.

It's sparkly...but a little slippery to handle
i paid about $50 for this rainbow chive and its ok for the money...overall seems like a decent knife but the coating makes it very slippery and the auto assist doesnt get the blade out all the way out...still have to manually push out....maybe it will loosen up. I bought the Spyderco cricket at the same time, paid $57 and its way more usable and feels better in the hand. I own a few other Kershaws and am glad I have this Chive in my collection but in terms of usability and value I think the rainbow one is more of a showpiece...the stainless probably has slightly better grip. Perfect Gift, from a Perfect Seller
This was a knife I already owened and loved, so it was a perfect gift for a loved one. Highly recommended, unique, beautiful and so useful I keep one in my pocket AT ALL TIMES, I am never without it. Girls out there, you have no idea, until you start having a knife this like on your person just how often it will come in handy. Not to mention that the guys like a girl to keeps a pocket knife with them. I clip my to my jean, my scrubs, in my boot - where-ever it will fit depending on the way I dress that day. Girls, buy one, Guys if you want to buy your gal ad knife I highly recommend this one, they will love the beauty in the finish, the ease at which it quickly opens with a touch of the finger and you will love the quality. As for the seller, Knife Country USA - they are awesome. Stand behind the product, great customer service and I will most certainly order from them again (and again....) - Thank you KCUSA for excellent care.

"Sunday go to meet'n" knife
Great knife, with Kershaw quality, and speed safe mechanism. Size, profile, and color make it a good knife to to carry in more formal situations. The only complaint I have is I lost it, and they don't sell it anymore to replace it.
