My favorite use of this powder is as follows:I mix it with distilled water to make a paste. Then, with a small brush (I just got a soft toothbrush at a pharmacy, although you may want to opt to use a nail brush or another small brush, if for nothing else then just for esthetics!), apply the paste under clean nails. Then, rinse.This will brighten up your nails for a "French manicure" type look. It will last for days, unless maybe you work with your hands extensively without using gloves (cooking or gardening would be best examples). As zinc oxide is a good antibacterial agent, it also protects your nails from bacteria. (I found it interesting to read that the main reason why animal claws are dangerous is not the mere fact that they can inflict wounds, but the fact that there are many bacteria growing under them, and inflicting a wound also infects it with pathogens. Thus, I think applying a natural antibacterial agent that you can also supplement with under your nails is a good idea).You may want to apply Vaseline, oil, or some creams on your cuticles before brushing the mix under your nails as the powder is fine and may need some work to get out of the cuticles.Don't worry if before rinsing your nails start look very yellow to you, zinc oxide is bright white and will look anything else less white than that look yellowish.Another great use of zinc oxide is sunscreen. I use it to make spray: get a spray bottle (you can get small glass bottles on amazon), fill it with distilled water, add a small pinch of the powder or else a little bit of the zinc paste you have premixed. I use a tiny bit so that the water turns whitish. I can't give you the exact amount as I don't use any exact amount. You may want to experiment with quantity as depending on your skin tone the zinc particles may leave white overcast if you use too much powder. So I use just a little bit and the effect is that it slightly brightens my skin without having me look white.You can spray it straight on your body or on the palm of your hand if it happens you wear dark clothes and want to be sure the white particles don't end up on your clothing.I almost bought powder from a different seller here on Amazon who claims the particles are non-nano but still very close to the "nano" range. The problem I have with that is that if their lab claims the particles are slightly above nano in the tests, will it always be above, or may I safely assume there will be an amount under the safety limit? And how much of the nano particles would be indifferent to your body? So you get no white overcast whatsoever, but is it safe?Great product.

I used this as a powder for my son who has foot odor that clears a room. I was looking at a powder for foot odor and the main ingredient was zinc oxide- this was much more cost effective and I'm actually shocked at how well it worked after just one application. Yesterday after school he took off his sneakers and there was no smell, I actually got close to his feet and there was absolutely no smell at all. Unbelievable. I put an application of the powder on his feet just before bed, made sure it was on from his ankles down and in between toes. I've read to do this for 3 consecutive days and then touch up periodically as needed.

I bought 5 bulk products. Each one looked and tasted the same, contained some crystal looking stuff rather than plain powders of the usual health food store caplets, and there was no variation in color from product to product in the Bulk items as there were in my previous products.The problem was when the two of the five products I bought from Bulk, they had a VERY different and negative effect from the previous brands I have used for years. This gave me concerns. So I went back to the reviews here and found that others have similar concerns. Apparently the product purity is not guaranteed, and it does not feel safe to me. I ended up throwing all of it away. Will go back to buying at the local health food store and verify it is manufactured in the U.S., or at least the purity is guaranteed. China has developed a bad reputation for this stuff now. I will repeat this review on all five products I purchased. Buyer beware.

I've been making lotion at home for about a year and bough this to add to make my own sunscreen. It mixed very easily with my formula and has been working great. It's easy to get out of the package.Recipe:3 tbs shea butter or cocoa butter or combination thereof1 tbs almond oil1 tbs coconut oil1.5 tbs beaswax2tbs zinc oxideCombine all ingredients but zinc oxide into a ceramic or silicone bowl. Melt in a water bath – bowl placed in pot of low boiling water. Avoid getting water into ingredients. Add in essential oils of choice until fragrance is to your liking. Mix in zinc oxide until well combined. poor in tins or jars to cool. Altoid tins and deodorant tubes work fantastically well. This ratio is about 30spf. I usually triple it and can fill 4 deodorant tubes.
