Dark Bites: A Short Story Collection (Dark-Hunter Novels)

This meant more to me because I have read all of Kenyon's series. I gently recommend at least reading the Dark Hunters series before reading this collection of short stories. Kenyon is a fantastic writer, incredibly creative, great with words. I especially love when she turns tropes on their heads and reveals how deeply the previously unloved are capable of caring for the one brave enough to appreciate them.

Can I give it 10 stars? What a fun treat this was to read. The characters are so wonderful from all of her previous books. I've always loved, Nick, Asheron, Fury, the Peltiers, etc. Awesome short tales with interesting outcomes. Suspense, romance, twists and turns, totally great !! The Dark-Hunter stories are terrific. It is an awesome series of paranormal suspense, danger, gods, demons, humans, and everything in between. I loved them all but Furys and the bonus Scene was my absolute favourite Need more short stories like this with Ash and Styxx after they Reconciled

I was expecting a fourth full book, not short stories. Although I didn't read the "about" before I brought it so serves me right. I found it was hard to keep up with time frames from story to story but I really enjoyed each and every one of them.

The book of stories has many links to old friends from the dark hunter books. The bears of Sanctuary, Acheron and Simi, and Nick. Although the stories weren’t novels, they covered the material and had perfect endings. Pick up a copy, get a comfortable chair and settle in to a lovely evening.

I have enjoyed earlier works by Sherriylon Kenyon and got this book because I had previously read and really enjoyed two stories within this collection of short stories: "Winter Born" and "Phantom Lover." Those stories, especially the former, really sizzle. Turns out, they were the only two I liked. When I think of short stories, I think of stories that, although shorter than the typical 300+ page novel, have some closure between the two characters and the stories at the end with the two 'walking off into the sunset,' for lack of a better description. Now, I'm okay if there are future works by the author that are linked to the short story, but I would like a sense of a finished story. Too many of the stories, such as "Fear the Darkness", seemed more like excerpts from chapters or a future, fuller novel.Spoiler Alert: And, the first story I read on my Kindle, "House of the Rising Son" has a bad ending for the main characters. Both of them end of freaking dying with a major cliffhanger alluding to future possiblities of them crossing paths. WHAT?!! If I wanted to read a pure Greek tragedy, I would have done that. I read romance novels, because I want to read ROMANCE with happy endings. So, I'm done with the author. I truly respect her right to following her creative vibes. I am not one who is going to attack the author with nasty names, emails, and judgment. She has the right to follow her inner creativity. And, since I don't like where it is for many of these stories, I will just do the mature and healthy thing, move on to stories and/or authors that contain the type of romance I like to read. No harm, no foul.

Great to have all the side stories in on place.I hav emore room on the bookshelf for more Sherrilyn Kenyon. Haven't read the Dark Hunter books yet? Get to it you don't know what your missing, a great mix of action, romance and humour. First time i read Night Pleasures I almost cried with laughter.Get it while its hot the series is ending soon. You don't wanna miss out.

I loved this collection of short stories, most I had read before in other anthologies or on the site but there were a couple I hadn't read and two that were brand new! I love having them all in one book though and I believe their are still a few not included so I hope their will be another collection to group the rest of them in one volume as well!

I am a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon and am pleased to have most of her novellas in one book. There were also a couple of new stories that hadn't been in print before. Loved them all ! Especially Aricles story. It connected to Cronicles of Nick and Styxx's books. This author never disappoints with her emotional rollercoaster ride stories.

Yet another in the series of a Dark Hunters. Must really be read as part of the series to get the full benefit and enjoyment from the book. Although didn't enjoy quite as much it was still a decent read. But, there again, I am hooked anyway and can't put these books down.
