Outdoor Research Men's Furio Jacket

it took me a long time to find a replacement jacket for the gore-tex military issue camo jacket ive been wearing for years. i am pleased with my purchase of this jacket. i did a lot of research and settled on this one for a few particular reasons and it has performed very well. it is very much rainproof and made of a high quality material that is very durable. the zippers have performed well, however i am curious to see how the main one holds up after repeated use. the two-way front zipper is a nice feature. the side zip vents are big and very useful when yah want to stay dry but let out some excessive body heat. it is not a warm jacket as it is made of a thin material, which i like as i prefer to layer.

This jacket is great. It fits like a glove, the quality feels great and the zippers and tightening-straps (bad English) are well placed. It is waterproof and windproof, and the hood is superb. It could breath better, so if you are looking for a jacket for really high intensity hiking etc you should get a jacket with Action Shell. If not, buy it!

First off, I live is Canada and ordered this item to my US box because it's not sold anywhere in Canada...and if it were the price would probably be extremely high. Anyway, the waterproof qualities of this coat is remarkable. When I was finally able to test it out in a hard downpour, I was amazed at how dry I was after 20 mins of standing under my ease troff drain pipe. All four outer pockets double as vents and the hood is well shaped for style, comfort and usefulness. The draw strings tuck out of the way into neat little slots and the cuffs velcro so same doesn't slid over your hands. The Zipper is a little tight to start, but it's not an issue. I bought this coat for fall, spring and winter camping. If you buy this coat you will be amazed at the attention to detail that the people at OR have focused on. This coat is one of my all time top purchases!I bought a Sierra Design 800 fill dri-down sweater for my insulation.. got it for $99 USD on Sierra design's website.

Great, streamlined jacket. Has a nice athletic fit with lots of room for arm movement. Reaching up for that hold doesn't expose anything like other jackets. Good number of pockets, I would only wish it had a water bottle size pocket on the interior. The full length pit zips are unique and a nice feature. I never notice it until I need it for those wet snowy days skinning up and I can put it into "poncho" mode. This jacket has the heavier duty fabric in the right places to both protect and keep the weight/bulk down. I've taken some short sliders on jagged rock without hurting the jacket. This is also the first hood with a brim that I don't need a ball cap to keep the rain out of my face! Very nice over all!

Bought his jacket in Dec 2013 and have only used it around town so no heavy-duty use. Unfortunately, the tape seams have separated in both front pockets making them basically unusable. OR does have their 'Infinity' warranty so i expect they will replace it, but this does not bode well for heavy use. I expected more after reading all the 5 star reviews OR typically gets. Will not buy OR again. Just another example of what you get when you move your manufacturing to China... for the price they charge it could be made here in the US.

Great jacket! I use it around town or on winter hikes. I am 6'3" and a bit husky and some of technical shells are cut too slim for my my figure. This one in XL fits well, but is not too loose for athletic fit.I was a little concerned about the vent zippers running the entire side of the jackets, thinking that they might be susceptible to damage and live you open to the elements, but so far they've worked very well and having added ventilation on strenuous hikes is awesome.The jacket is light, but feels bombproof in the weather.Highly recommended.

This is my first Outdoor Research jacket, but I know the company has a legendary warranty to replace their items if they fail. With that being said I did not worry about quality when I bought this jacket. The jacket is well designed with the 3 layer Gore Tex pro shell on the shoulders and arms and the 2 layer PAC lite on the body. This is more than a glorified rain jacket, as the Gore Tex is for abrasion resistance from backpacking or mountaineering as a shell. If you want just a regular rain jacket, this may be overkill, but at the price, this is one of the most affordable jackets with Gore Tex pro.

Great gore-tex coat for a fraction of the price of others. The zipper is bit tough at time but that is a minor complaint. Good fit and quality materials.
