They show this mug/cup holder with what looks like a sizable mug. This is false advertising. The holder is tapered so that even an 8oz mug with no taper won't fit. 8oz mugs are probably the most common mugs around. I even tried it with one of my roommate's tapered mugs, but it's a 12oz and doesn't fit at all. It works fine for narrow cups and the like, but dont buy this if you intend to use it with a mug.

If you are anything like me, you have spilled a drink or two in your desk. I work from home and after frying my nice keyboard via coffee spill, I decided it was time to look for a product like this.So far, I am spill free, and the cubby is deep enough that even if I accidentally knock it, the drink won't tip over/fall out. I notice that some reviewers are not happy with the total size of the cubby (as they were expecting their favorite cup to fit), but it hasn't been an issue for me, as I use a combination of pint glasses, cans and also a specialty cup that is sort of like a mason jar shape (that one is a bit more snug, but still fits well. Check the dimensions of your cups and the product description here to be sure.Another thing to note, the clip needs about 3 inches to be snug on your desk, so this means you either need a place without to many brackets/hinges, or you might have to get creative. I found really only one spot on my desk that this clips on snugly, but luckily it is exactly where I would want it to fit, just to my left on the corner of the desk.9/10 product!

UPDATE - after two years, I'm STILL using this every single day with big YETI drinks.-----I was worried about this thing holding my big-boy drinks. This cup holder is plenty big enough for my 32 and 48 oz. beverages. it doesn't slip or ever seem like it can't handle the weight. I'm quite pleased at the ease of use and the strength of the whole thing.If I have any complaints, it's that the picture does not do it justice. The photo makes it look like it will hold a SOLO cup fine, but not a BigGulp. The holder's cup ring size is large, and it's deep enough to keep drinks of all sizes from spilling.

I'm handicapped due to cancer, so I use a rollator (a walker with 4 wheels and a seat) and a motorized wheelchair, too. I also love beverages and almost always will have one near me wherever I am. I struggled for over a year to find a cup holder which would work on both of those.All those black and other colors of clamps or wraps either could not work on both.Most of them would not be able to hold the size of drinks I get.When people use those types they rate the item poorly.I didn't want to keep buying and testing and repeat until the golden egg, so I waited.This was on shark tank and has be out for a while now, and I originally looked at it for my lap desk, but I use cups at home and the original did not have a cut out for cup handles.When I saw I could get that and it's on holiday sale, I got two. One lives in the rollator's bag and claps on the seat when I need it, and is stored in that bag. The other is attached to my wheelchair which lives in my living room. I can easily move it to my lapdesk back to the wheelchair as needed. On my Jazzy select wheelchair, I clip it just behind the controller.I am not too large but with that configuration does have it poke into my leg, and while it sit in it all is fine, I have not taken out for a ride with a drink yet. Snow was falling after they arrived.....But clamped to the seat of the rollator, bring drinks from vehicle to apartment is up a little hill and over some rough seams. The drinks do spill a bit but the holder doesn't move.I have told my oncology group about it and demo it if the walker is there.Oh, it clips on my lap desk like a champ and handled anything I put in it.Highly Recommended.

This cup holder is a gamers best friend! I have over 5 grand on my desk and would never bring drinks into my game room because I am a klutz. The possibility of spilling a drink on my desk and ruining all of my gear or sitting it on the floor and kicking toward wires left me parched. Not no more! I have a handy dandy Monster on deck at all times now. Thanks YOY!

We just moved into a house with new carpeting and I didn't want to risk spills and stains since we're renting. My table top is 1.25" thick and this worked perfectly with it. Although the cup size is larger than I usually need since I'm drinking from tall and thin aluminum cans most of the time, it's still great. It protects the carpet as well as the electronic components sitting lower to the ground. I have absolutely no issue with it, in fact I'm planning on getting two more of them--one for my audio workstation, and one that's designed for mugs so I can have some hot tea. Do yourself a favor and buy. Such great value for the money.

This was a great addition to my bed table. I was concerned at the durability and sturdiness of product. But after using for almost a year it holds just as well as first day I recieved. My insulated cup sits in it perfectly. Never have to worry about knocking drink over, plus gives me additional room on table for other items. I even grab my cup in middle of night in the dark & never had a spill.

This is the most useful thing I have ever bought off amazon. No more rings or annoying coasters on my desk. No more spilling full glasses of water on my desk. My cups can now chill safely out of the line of fire, while safely within reach.The holder is slightly larger than a standard car cup holder which is perfect because my camelback water bottle is just barely too big for normal cup holders, but fits snugly in this one. I don't know how I could live without one now.
