My wife and I use to to make our coffee at home every day. The extra steps of grinding coffee and heating up water on the stove have become a normal part of our routine, and its completely worth it for French Press coffee (the taste is far above that of an electric coffee maker). I have broken two other glass presses prior to buying this one (Wife calls me "rammy"), so naturally this was the next logical step. There are TWO major benefits to this press: 1. It keeps your coffee warm for a couple hours; 2. It is made of steel and doesn't break when you accidentally bang it on the sink.You can overfill this press and end up with grain in your coffee as your pour it out. Be sure to not fill the water above the thickest point on the side of the press. Pretty easy to do this properly -- I messed up twice in the beginning and haven't had a problem since. If this happens to you, its USER ERROR.Ultimately, I recommend this highly. It's rugged and tough, perfect for traveling/camping, and just the right size for a couple people who only need 2 cups of coffee each.

Makes a lot of coffee and it stays hot!

One of the things I like most about camping is camp coffee. Nothing like a crisp morning on the beach with a hot cup of coffee and the salt air...mmmmOver the years, however, I have become an insufferable coffee snob (french press man, here). I like fresh beans, ground daily into a nice beaker with piping hot water for my perfect cup.Can't tell you how many glass beakers I have broken in transit or during the trip. I pack two these days.Until recently, when friend got me on to the Stanley thermos and mug trip and I discover the Stanley French Press 48oz with Double Vacuum Insulation, Stainless Steel Wide Mouth Coffee Press.OH MY GAwwwwwwwwwwwd!It's everything you want and expect from Stanley.THe press mechanism works almost better than my fancy sur la table press and the vacuum top keeps the coffee stanley thermos piping hot for hours.I am almost ashamed to admit I haven't made a pot without my new Stanley...except that it works SO WELL!The one thing I did have to do was reconnoiter my prep ratios. I don't thin I actually read that this behemoth was 48 oz huge. I kind laughed when I opened it. That quickly turned in to a maniacal self satisfied "all mine" laugh. It was a keeper from day one.I used to eye ball my ratios but for this thing, I actually bought a 1 tablespoon (15ml) & 2 tablespoon (30ml) food grade scoop set that i have grown accustomed to using. It is truly a perfect cup (or 3) of coffee).I am tempted to buy another and pack it away in my camping gear with another set of measuring spoons.

Heavy duty, keep coffee hot for awhile, but the screen filter doesn't fit tight so you get a lot of grounds In your cup.

Does what it’s supposed to do, and easy to clean, we use it for tea as well! We bought two more for family gifts.

This makes great coffee. Keep coffee hot as says. Here’s the bad news the if screen filter ever needs to be replaced. Stanly doesn’t offer any replacement parts for this product. I’ve ordered aftermarket replacement filter screens that say the fit Stanly French press but they are too small. So I would not recommend the product.

I use this almost daily. It is perfect for a single person who just wants a couple of cups of delicious coffee in the morning!
