I bought a set of these to evaluate. The quality is high and they smell great with fresh cedar smell. Most of the wood was red cedar heartwood with a small amount of blonde wood. Any small knot holes were filled and sanded nicely. Need for filler was minimal. Surface was smooth overall. The spring holds the tree in securely. I wear a 9 1/2" in dress shoes, and these fit perfectly. I immediately ordered a second set. I now have them in four pairs of shoes, and they are working well. To remove the shoe trees, it's best to grasp the heel handle with the index and middle finger and pull it forward to compress the spring before lifting it out. I do find a knob works better in this regard, and I would prefer a knob over the brass plate. The plate could be removed and a knob added if anyone was so inclined. I still think they deserve 5 stars. If it was a 10 point scale, I'd give them a 9 for the lack of a knob for easy removal.

These Stratton cedar shoe trees came packaged as nice as any gift from a high-end department store. Nicely made, and I should note that, in case you were wondering, the Left and the Right shoe trees are identical. I believe the Left/Right moniker is just to help you remember which shoe tree went in which shoe. (I.e., you can put the shoe tree labeled Right into your left shoe... but who would want to...)

I have boughten other brands and I keep coming back to Stratton. Why? Because of the quality, size/design and the spring tension on the shoe tree is perfect. The spring tension on other shoe trees brands are weak so it doesn't keep proper shoe form or they have weird designs.

Worked perfectly. Very aromatic. Quality on par with the more expensive brands (I have them and theStrattons seem much better.)

They are easy to adjust to different type shoes and different shoe sizes. They are made of cedar so they smell good. Should eliminate any odors that may linger from a long day of wear.

Well made. Real cedar. Keep my shoes fresh and help them keep their shape.

These shoes tree smell really nice, in a strong being in the woods right after a rain kind of way. The cedar smell is strong. Fits well. The package came way faster than I expected! Highly recommend.
