Bush Furniture Saratoga 2 Drawer Lateral File Cabinet in Harvest Cherry, Document Storage Chest for Home Office

Great but finish is rough. The wood isn't smooth. I feel like I should sand it and add a coat of paint or something

I originally purchased this file cabinet as part of a set with my desk and hutch. During a move, the drawers were damaged by the movers so I wanted to repurchase the same piece since it's part of my set. I originally bought it elsewhere but I purchased the replacement from Amazon.The package arrived undamaged and was packaged very well. I began assembly and thought I had all the pieces until I realized I was missing the front piece of the bottom drawer (piece M). Luckily, the lower drawer on my original cabinet was undamaged so I was able to swap, but had I not had a spare, I would have been very upset. I'd hate to have to take it all apart, fit it perfectly back into the box (near impossible), and then ship it back off for a replacement.I'm not sure if this is Bush's oversight or Amazon's, but I'm rating it down a star because of that. The assembly isn't too bad, just time consuming. And the cabinet is beautiful, functions well, and is sturdy. It is heavy, though, so keep that in mind if you are planning on moving in the near future. Don't move it with the drawers inside and don't get it wet, as my movers did. ><

I purchased the Saratoga L-Shaped desk, bookshelf, and lateral file in Cherry for my new office at work and am thrilled with all of it. The finish is a beautiful color and the pieces feel very sturdy. Because I set up my monitor where the desk and return come together, I use my keyboard on top of my desk instead of underneath with the tray, but I still have plenty of room to work. The facilities department where I work actually set up the desk with a right-handed return, and I had requested left-handed. Knowing that it was reversible, my husband and I switched it over in an hour and a half without having to drill a single hole! Easy peasy. The original set up had taken 1 person used to putting desks together about 5 1/2 hours. The only problem I had was one of the handles on the lateral was broken, but I called Bush, and I just got my replacement after only a few days. I was also surprised that the lateral fits 2 rows of letter size hanging files instead of legal so I did one row of legal size and turned the second side sideways to fit letter. I am getting MANY comments on how nice this set is. I just ordered a second lateral as I had already filled up all the drawers! Topped it off with 2 burgundy leather guest chairs for less than $130 each. Loving my new office suite!!

I bought this to add to the L shaped desk I already bought from Bush. Problem is one part is not the right color. Have already spent 45 minutes on the phone waiting to talk to someone. I've given up and sent an email. So guess we'll see what happens.

Great cabinet. Heavyweight. The directions leave a little to be desired, but if you can interpret the pictures (as there are very, very few written instructions) you'll be totally fine. I put together the shelf all on my lonesome, and it took me about 2-2.5 hours. No biggie. Just take it easy and don't get overwhelmed! Note: don't overscrew tge screwheads because they will break! I made the mistake near the end and used a very weak electric screwdriver and popped a screw head off. It's my own fault because you should not used anything electric on these kinds of pieces!! Don't do it! Use your old fashioned tools and it'll be just fine! I hope you have as much success as I did! You can do it!! Lighting was not great in the picture, but in real life it does have that great, bright, deep cherry color you want!

These filing cabinets have a great appearance, fairly easy to construct, and they fit into my office perfectly. I purchased two, and the only drawback I have with them is that of trying to fit two hanging folders side-by-side to accommodate two rows of files, which is not feasible, because the width is about an inch to narrow. So expect to have only one row of hanging file per cabinet. I would recommend this product, it is functional and has good aesthetics.

Cabinet is exactly as advertised. It’s a beautiful piece. It took my 16 yr old and I about 3 hours to assembly. Instructions were pretty clear and easy to read. There are a lot of pieces so patience is a must. I do suggest having someone help with assembly as some pieces are fairly heavy, and cabinet it’s self weighs about 100lbs.
