Just like in a hotel…
It works just like a hotel safe with your pretty much is. In fact, I’m 99% sure I’ve use the safe in a hotel at some point. Works great with the buttons or swiping with a standard credit card once you adapted to the card, which is very simple and done with one swipe.

Excellent quality. Easy to install. Easy to use. Perfect for our college kids! Perfect for our rental home! This one is a bit smaller if you want to put a 15” laptop inside it is too small but a 13” laptop or iPad Pro will fit. Excellent to have to give you extra piece of mind.

Keypad doesn’t work
Safe does not work. When I put batteries in, there is one beep, a pause, and then a series of beeps. The key pad then does not do anything when buttons are pressed. Yes, I used brand new batteries. Very sad :(

Easy to use!
This safe is a rental property dream. EASY to use, either by entering a code or swiping a credit card to lock it. If the code is forgotten (or the card lost), there is a master key as backup. We put one in our BNB and renters love it.

Keypad issues and limited warranty
Nice, small safe for hiding away a few important items. Not fireproof. A number of people have complained about the keypad and mine failed albeit after several years of use. I was told by Mesa that model is no longer made so I am SOL. Toss it in the trash or use the backup key. Plan to buy another brand which either has a real warranty beyond one year or backs the product a little better.

This is NOT the MHRC916E Safe: it is SMALLER.
The picture is actually for the Mesa MH101e safe, NOT the MHRC916E. The dimensions given actually match the smaller safe, not the MHRC916E safe in the title. If you want the one listed in the title, look elsewhere.I was startled by the comment that it was too small for a 15" laptop, so I investigated further.I will remove this review when the product listing is corrected.
