SO SO SMALL!
Okay so this is mostly on me but do your research before buying a pan. I bought this because it was cheap and I figured a scoop AND litter with it was great! But it's tiny. Nothing more than mice (and like...two mice, or else you'd be changing it every day) or a hamster could use this. The scoop is so small I don't think it would even make sense to use it, just dump and refill the litter. I didn't try the litter at all so I can't comment on it. The quality is pretty good but for a dollar more I got a much larger pan and then just bought a scoop and a good walnut litter on my own.

I had no problems potty training my Syrian.
This purchase was an upgrade from a previous potty I had purchased for Syrian hamster— Kaytee Hamster Potty, Colors Vary . The one by Kaytee is too small for Syrians and better fitted for dwarf hamsters. This potty by Ware Manufacturing is the perfect size for my Syrian.I had no problems potty training my Syrian. After taking him home from my local pet store, I gave him a couple or so days to familiarize himself with his new home before introducing him to the potty. Once I put the potty in his cage, I simply took a few of his droppings and sprinkled them on top of the litter. He began using the potty that same day and continues to use it to this day.Makes it so much easier to clean his cage! I don't have to worry about droppings all over the place. I simply change his litter once a week. Also, with the litter included with the Kaytee Potty, my Syrian would eat the small ball shaped litter for some reason (I only know this as his potty would have less and less litter each day). He stays away from eating the litter in this Ware Manufacturing Potty which is a plus in my books.Note: If you own a CritterTrail Habitat, the clips on the back of this potty are too large to fit through the CritterTrail's wire cage. I simply set mine on the bottom of the cage—no problems with tipping over or anything.

Not Bad, Could be Better
I discovered that my son's hamster was only peeing in one corner of the cage. Putting this litter box in that corner makes him only pee inside the litter box. Victory! He also does his other business there, as well as everywhere else in the cage. (I swear it seems hamsters poop their own weight daily.) Having the pee contained is worth the box. However, this box does not snap onto the cage at all, so I'd be better off cutting off the little hooks in the back. The design of this box could be greatly improved by making it a little higher. There's a dip in the front, which is perfect for allowing the hamsters to kick out good amounts of the litter. I do like the triangular shape, but it should be higher, and the hooks are not useful at all.As for the litter itself, the Kaytee brand that comes with it is OK, but not very absorbent, and the litter is a bit on the big side. Living World Easy Scoop Litter works much better but costs too much to be worth it (nearly 3x what the Kaytee brand costs for the same amount). Trying a third brand now, hoping it's the best of both worlds.

Critter never used
It's every bit as described. I don't like how to unhook to move it around but can't complain, Louie never used it so it's still clean and no need to be moved. Hopefully he will eventually get some use out of it, a bed, a carrot tray, it's cute. I did however use the scooper for the little pooper and that works great.

Ehh
This was generally what i expected. For what comes with it I really don't think the price is worth it. It is super tiny as It is meant for hamsters. I got this to use for my rats, they are pretty small and fit in it ok. The major downside is i can't clip it to the cage wires because my cage has a deep base so they can drag the litter box around. I am currently using it attached to the wires but to have it like that means its higher up and i'm waiting to see if my rats use it. The shovel is also advertised as yellow but mine was a grey granite color, i don't mind but for people that do keep that in mind. So overall I got what I expected but I feel you could get better for 10$ but it is pretty hard to find tiny litter boxes. But for people with a hamster and a cage that doesn't have a deep base it works well and does the job!

Maybe Not For Rats
I bought two of these for my adolescent rats and the box came with a small litter scoop and (in bags) sand litter, almost like it's supposed to be for a chinchilla bath or something. I've heard that this type of dust/sand can be harmful to rats, so I threw the baggies away and thoroughly washed the boxes before putting them in the cage. If you have a rat any bigger than adolescent ones, the box would absolutely not be big enough.

Hasn’t worked yet
Our hamster loves to play in this little container but does not use the bathroom in it. I think we will turn it into a sand bath for her.

We’re potty trained!
My hamster Ricky Bobby had a appt in his cage where he liked to pee. Unfortunately it was on the upper level of the wire section of his habitat. The urine would run down three levels to the aquarium tank that makes up the bottom part. It was a pain to clean! I put this little hamster potty in his favorite potty spot and added the litter. Then I put a piece of bedding that was wet with hamster urine, and waited. When he woke up, he went to his potty spot and played with the litter alittle bit, then turning in a curled, backed his butt into the corner and peed!! He’s been using it consistently for two full days now and I am so proud of him!

Hamsters really do use the litterbox!
I was sceptical when I first bought a litter box for a hamster but once it was placed in the area the hamster peed, he immediately went in the litterbox. The litterbox gets difficult to clean if it is left too long hence the reason I needed to purchase another one. It was easier to order off Amazon then go hunting for the litterbox in the pet store as I went to the pet store twice and there were none in stock. So, hamsters really do use the litterbox and it sure helps keeps the smell down and the cage clean. This is a great investment and I would never go without a litterbox in a hamster cage.

My Hamster was not smart enough
I have a hamster and his name is Nose. Yes, that is correct. A hamster named nose. I had high expectations that Nose would learn how to use his potty. I figured that since Nose runs on his wheel and hides his food he would totally crush this potty training thing. I regret to inform you that Nose is not potty trained but the potty itself is not to blame - it works just fine. Your small animal puts his bottom in the potty and does his thing. Or he puts all his food in it. Little nose, the mightiest hamster of all, decided this was perfect to hide his food in and then go potty in. Here is to hoping your hamster is smarter then mine.

teensy and adorable.. and blue
well, this was a waste of less than five bucks for me. should've read the size, but it didn't occur to me that litter boxes could come this small. when I donate to the SPCA maybe we can train a hamster or a mouse.I bought a couple more bc my rats like to use their little corners (and I donated my first to the SPCA). I've hoped for the green (pictured) every time and have been given blue every time

Toilet Good, Did not use Sand
My hamster like the toilet, he uses it, but, I will not use the sand, it is too fine so I dont want to try it. I just put some bedding in it and it works fine. He started to pee in another corner too, so I bought a second one, but, he decided he like to use the ohter one to store food in. There are two clip hooks , but, the hooks dont fit, so I attach one hook and it keeps in in place.
