Point the TX1004 Wireless Remote toward the front of the camera (line of sight) and take full control the shutter. Eliminate vibrations caused by touching the shutter release button (for lengthy exposures or macro photography, for example). You can and even put yourself in the picture without having to make that silly 10 second dash Notice: When the infrared remote control is used for the first time, please remove the insulation sheet from battery holder Aim the transmitter on remote control at infrared receive on the camera(within 30 degree of right angle of the lens axis and front lens are the best angle for operation) and press the shutter release for shooting.(For outdoor shooting, make sure the subject is not backlight and the line between transmitter and infrared receiver is not blocked by lens or other obstacles) Infrared ray can't be seen by human and you can't see any light from the LED on the end of remote control when operating Package Include: 1x Remote control 1x CR2025 lithium battery 1x User manual

handy remote
has worked fine for me....although I only get to use 1 button out of the five......did have it work at approx. 30ft during a night shoot....got a 'selfie' during a full moon......it's nice option to have for a low price......although I now use a wired intervalometer more often than this remote.....I will prolly get this type of remote for my pentax k-50 if they make it

Gotta have a really good line of sight. But without it.. Could cause some cursing.

It's OK
Works OK, you need to hold it at just the right angle to get it to go, but it does the job OK.
