Extremely Graphic
This is my first KS book so I was not fully prepared for her writing style. She is an incredible writer and has mastered the art of the thrill. The story was a page turner. However, it was extremely graphic in its details of torture, abuse and rape. Reader beware if you have any triggers.

Intense, chilling, I could not put it down....
Pretty Girls by Karin SlaughterClaire and Lydia's Sister (Julia) goes missing almost twenty four years ago. Although estranged from each other dire circumstance brings together the Siblings as they search for answers. Lives are in danger and things are not as they seem as they get close to the shocking truth.Moving at a steady pace told form multiple points of view, I was pulled deep into this broken family. Secrets slowly revealed left me in shock as I dove deep into the intense, suspenseful chilling story. Karin Slaughter knows how to grab your attention and not let go. I highly recommend Pretty Girls to those who enjoy (domestic) thrillers.

Good but not great
I enjoyed reading this book for the most part but feel like the first half was a challenge to read. It was slow-moving. I considered not finishing it but I’m glad I did. The second half was much better.

couldn’t put it down!
This was a page turner! Very dark and violent however. I had to take a few breaks when it got too heavy. The depths of depravity! I agree with the authors views of men in general, and law enforcement, although the book ends on a somewhat hopeful note.

Couldn't Put It Down!
Rarely do I get totally sucked into a book like this, I legitimately could not put it down. I recommend Pretty Girls if you're looking for a dark (really dark) thriller. Excellent!

Amazing book
Very good book, a little slow at the beginning but got good and kept me interested the entire time. Only negative thing is that the book is very cheaply made

Couldn't put it down
I couldn't put this book down. Definitely a page turner! Both sad and gruesome at times, but a very good ending. My only complaint with this book is there was a lot I felt that could have been left out that didn't really seem relevant to the situation that was happening during certain points throughout the book. Looking forward to reading more from this author

Alerta: conteúdo pesado
O livro é muito bem escrito. O conteúdo é pesado. Não é para qualquer um. Gosto desse tipo de livros, mas até para mim achei um pouco pesado e precisei ler livros mais leves depois.

Ugliest things written to degrade, rape, kill, mutilate women in detail
I was shocked at how different this book was from the description and the sample, did not see it coming when I bought the book.- degrading women on so many different levels. Darker than dark for the ugliest things that can be imagined to degrade women on internet places....fiction maybe, but I did not need these descriptions of torture, raping, and killings in the cruelest of ways stuck in my head.Story line sure doesn't give you a heads up for the unnerving and descriptive details. I read a lot of suspense and mysteries, but never have I read anything this bad. Just a heads up again for those who do not like to read about horrors that can be sold on line for other perverts to enjoy ugly fantasies.Sandy

Intriguing but horrible.
I read pretty girls while looking for a new thriller to compete with the amazement of Gillian Flynns gone girl. I found a book that was page turning sure but housed one of the most unlike able unsympathetic characters I've ever read about.SPOILER ALERTsister Julia is missing. Flash forward twenty odd years and the family is torn apart by suicide by marriage by other things. Another violent death occurs and the sisters meet again. Basically in this story in the space of two days Claire finds out her husband was not the man she thought he was. The man she had been married to for almost two decades. She hadn't figured it out in two decades but managed to figure it out by merely looking at a computer 48 hours after his death. The character of Claire is so unlike able and incapable of making you,the reader, feel a shred of emapathy for her. It makes me hate this book and what she chooses to do knowing life's are in peril makes me want to hurl the book out the nearest window. But, I couldn't put it down. I read the entire thing, in bed, bath, kitchen while cooking. It's interesting. You want the villain to get his comeuppance and a happy ending. If you want a book that will keep you intrigued yes get it. If you want to actually care about the victims or not have a problem with how they were written as selfish unsympathetic morons then don't get it.

I like Karin Slaughter's style of writing and this book was ...
I like Karin Slaughter's style of writing and this book was no exception. There's a nice pace to the story and it's compelling - you want to keep reading and figure out just what is going on. She tackles a lot - how Julia's disappearance affects the members of her family, the disengagement from each other because of what happened to Julia and to each of them. Then her now grown little sister experiences the "death" of her spouse in front of her eyes and it leads to her discovery that he's not what he seemed. Claire is helped by her estranged sister Lydia and together they discover the horrible truth about just who killed their sister and why. There was a part of me that could not suspend my disbelief that Claire was as oblivious to her husband's true nature as she was, but in reality that happens. There were a few other parts of the plot that earned my disbelief too. A good book, a real page turner, but my disbelief about certain aspects means I am only giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
