I purchased this dimmer switch to control under-cabinet lighting. The dimmer works great. My only criticism is the directions that come with it are vague and offer little rationale. For example,I didn't think their wiring diagram was very clear how to wire this thing (and I know how to read schematic diagrams). As I figured out on my own, you need to connect the power source to the black terminal on the dimmer, and the output (the lights) to the brass terminal. In my case, the blue terminal wasn't needed (you only need it to connect a companion dimmer or switch). But once it was all connected, I calibrated it according the instructions and it works very well with absolutelyNo flicker in the LED lights. The dimmer itself is a good product, but they need to re-write their instruction sheet so it is more clear.

Wife and I love the Maestro switches!!!
Installed a couple of these after installing a couple of dimmable LED ceiling lights. One two-wire and one on a three-wire circuit (separate on/off toggle switch). Two wire is as simple as replacing a regular on/off flip switch. The three wire was a little confusing, but a YouTube video about setting up the Maestro on a three wire circuit made it super-easy to rewire the other (normal) switch to work with the Maestro. Love the soft on and dimming off this switch provides, and the ease of brightness setting, which stays set for every "on" cycle until you change it. Dimly lit LED on switch to make it easy to find in the dark. No dim glow of LED lamp in off mode, either. Highly recommended.

So close - one miner caveat
This is pretty much exactly as advertised. Can be used as a simple dimmer, or in a circuit with another switch -- be careful to follow the instructions relating to master/slave or you will discover one switch is disabled by the other! Goes in smoothly as a straight replacement for a simple switch or alternative dimmer switch, with good options for the finish straight out of the box.The caveat... as a digital dimmer, the brightness settings are limited to the graduated scale, which is irrelevant, except that at the "dim" end, I find I want at least one more level of dimness, perhaps two, beyond what it permits as the least bright. This was not really an issue on old school incandescent but was particularly noticeable for LED dimmable bulbs.Overall, I like these, have installed multiple, and undoubtedly will install more in the future.

Programming this was WAY more complicated and time consuming than I expected.
I’m a long time user of Lutron Diva dimmers. We have them all over our house. We upgraded our recessed bulbs to LED’s in our family room and the existing Diva dimmer worked ok but wouldn’t dim the bulbs to the level we like. Lutron recommended the MaestroCL. I installed it. No problem. But... it would not program correctly. I followed the printed instructions, videos online and after way more time than this was worth decided this dimmer was either defective or the most difficult thing to program ever. I usually don’t have issues programming devices. I returned it and will install a Diva CL dimmer, instead.

I highly recommend these 2 or 3 way dimmer switches
I have purchased at least 10 of these 3way dimmers (all gray), they instructions were a bit confusing but there is an toll free number I called (great customer service) and within minutes had the dimmer working. the switch can be adjusted so when you turn it on it goes to your saved settings. if you press and hold the off toggle button for 2 seconds the lights will slowly dim (about 60 seconds) lower and lower then turn off, give you more than enough time to leave the room. the dimmer has about 10 positions full power to extremely dim. I highly recommend these 2 or 3 way dimmer switches, the are very contemporary/ high tech with it's square dimmer switch and cover plate (sold separately) and you don't see any screws which give it a very clean look. lastly I have ordered several used and never had a problem or cosmetic blemishes although they state divide my have minor blemishes. save your self a few dollars.

Pretty good
A bit expensive but it's great for controlling LED bulbs. I was disappointed at first with the low setting, but you can recalibrate it. I found that the LED is just a bit brighter at its lowest setting - unlike incadescents that give off a faint glow. What is nice is that you know where the absolute lowest setting is, the switch remembers it, and you don't have to mess around with it to get there.I have it controlling one IKEA ceiling fixture with two each 150watt equivalent bulbs, and the span from most dim to brightest is amazing. If you shut it off, it remembers what brightness level you were at last, at goes there again when you turn it back on.A small green LED indicator On the switch lights to let you know how high or low in the control range you are.

This is the dimmer for LED lamps
This is the dimmer to get for LED lamps. It's specifically set up for LEDs, CFLs and incandescents. An earlier Lutron dimmer worked fine for CFLs and incandescents, but when I changed the bulbs to LEDs, it would not turn them all the way off. I had to use the little pull-out/push-in switch at the very bottom of the dimmer to get the LEDs off completely.Swapping in the Lutron Maestro C.L. dimmer solved the problem. No adjustments needed; it worked perfectly as soon as I turned the breaker back on.Note: Don't attempt to wire these in hot. The electronics can be damaged and so can you!

Nice Multi-Location Control
I'm replacing failing light switches in my home. A number of the switches were three- or four-way dimmers. The old switches required that all switches on the circuit to be set to the proper position for the dimmer to work, and the dimmer control was only available at one location. With these Lutron switches I have control, both dimmer and on/off, from any switch on the circuit. Switches operate very smoothly and feel like high-quality construction. Controlling lights in my home is so much more convenient now. Wiring into existing systems can be a challenge to work out for multiple switch circuits.

The One Dimmer Switch for All Applications
If you are ever unsure which dimmer to buy, this is the one suitable for all applications - incandescent, halogen and LED. As well, it can be used in any switch configuration (single or multiple switch). All you need is one dimmer control in the circuit, regardless of how many switches control the light. There is a simple programming step that must be followed for proper operation when used in a multiple switch configuration. I have never experienced any issues with controlling LED lighting with this dimmer (no flickering, brightness fluctuation or variation in setting after turning off and on). A nice feature is that the lights fade on and off within about 2 seconds rather than instantaneously switching.Just make sure that you do not exceed the max 150W rating for LED or 600W rating for halogen and incandescent.

Premium dimmer switch
It gives your lights a digitally controlled look. I have them in my "living room" and it gives the pot lights a "theater look" when changing. The switches also be programmed to restrict the highest setting to something lower. I did this for on of the switches that had lights closer to the tv area as it was too bright. So when i turn my lights on those lights were dimmed a bit at full on. (if that makes sense)Also if you hold the switch for a couple of seconds it has a delayed dim to off setting of 30 seconds that gives you enough time to grab your pop corn before the movie starts. Then the lights dim to off! Pretty coolPick and choose where these go as they would be pricey to throw them in every room.

Beware!!! I received knock-off products that don't work properly
I ordered three Maestro onset dimmers in the Biscuit finish. Biscuit is a satin finish. What I received was one dimmer that was correct and two that were in boxes identical to the first one but were different. Different finish - glossy almond - different wiring configuration and cheaply constructed. Everything says Lutron but I have used dozens of Maestro dimmers over the course of many years and what was in the Lutron box does not appear to be a Lutron Maestro dimmer even though Lutron is stamped on the product. I will never again order this type of product from Amazon. Look before you buy. Check what's in the box. Beware. Someone is trying to rip you off.

Great for a month then it stopped working
This dimmer looks very well made. However, it stopped working about a month after the installation (a couple of days past the expiration date for return to amazon). Its imply won't pass on the electricity to the lights anymore. When it worked It dimmed without any flickering our kitchen ceiling LED lights. I think we may just have gotten a bad one as it seems it is well reviewed... I think for such a high price it should not break but mistakes happen. Too bad as we will have to replace this one now, a bit of a waste.

Works perfectly
Extremely fast delivery!I installed and went through the documented process to get it to work, and voila, lights were dimming perfectly.I installed another brand prior to this, on another project, and although that one works too, it doesn't look as sleek, and there are micro adjustments that I have to make to prevent flickering.
