When buying this, there's no description (hype), and I was unsure. I mean, I don't even know what to call this-- there's no name for it on the product page. I bought some other cartridge and stylus combinations for an turntable I'd picked, and while they were in shipment I thought I'd take a chance with salvaging the old cartridge that came with my turntable. The others arrived before this one, and it took me a couple of weeks before giving this one a run.Well, my biggest problem with the stylus is that I can't make myself stop using it. It hasn't come off my turntable, and my other (more expensive) cartridges are relegated to storage. I don't know how to describe the sound except to say that it just sounds "right." The other carts sound good too, but this one produces a sound that's "complete," whereas the others maybe put their own footprint on the sound. Had I known, I would have saved my money on the others and bought this one in the first place. I am VERY SATISFIED.Having said that, the price is now 60% higher than when I first bought it. At that price, it would be hard for me to pull the trigger again, but if you're thinking about changing your setup because you can't find a stylus to fit your cartridge, ignore all the glitter in the other manufacturers' descriptions about the sound that you'll get with their over-marketed stuff. Give this a chance, and I think you'll be really pleased.

I'd given up on finding a reasonably priced, nice sounding stylus. This thing is a great vaue.

It plugs into my cartridge just like it is supposed to and plays my records beautifully.
