Update July 2023:The sound has been getting worse over the last couple of years, with a horrible vibration at even low volumes. The passive radiator deformed and rattled dreadfully, so I replaced it with an alternative radiator. Still, the bass is good with the speaker volume at 2, any more and it sounds horrible! It rattles, booms and distorts. I've left my first review unchanged as it shows how much the speaker has deteriorated over time!Original review:Awesome speaker, with so much bass it's almost embarrassing! Luckily we don't have close neighbours so we can really enjoy this speaker! As part of a 5+1 cinema system it really brings everything to life, and it's fabulous for pure music too - it's got the cleanest and most precise bass I've heard in a long time, and albums with really low bass lines (eg. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here) sound so good! At this price it's amazing value.

Had this for a couple of months. It's awesome. We have a fair sized lounge and it can fill it on level 3. It would blast your head off if you so desire.

I thought that this wouldn't make a great deal of difference to the sound as I have two towers with twin 12" speakers in both but I was surprisingly wrong , It produced way more bass than I Was getting ,easy set up with the LFE input .

Great sub, excellent quality and some serious bass. I found myself needing a new sub after having to move my q acoustics 2070si. I was really considering buying another but having read reviews of the Areo 9 I thought I'd try something new, I'm glad I did.

Amazing powerful bass that gives an ooomph to my music and movies. Really earth window and wall shattering bass. But it's pure at mid bass volume levels and doesn't spoil the listening.

Perfect for a home cinema or even plain music!
