This has the depth needed for difficult detecting tasks such as finding metal in trees.
This is a specialty metal detector, using pulse induction rather than the usual vlf method of signalling. It lacks the discrimination of advanced vlf detectors so one cannot tell if it is getting a signal from a silver coin or a tin can. But the reader already knows that so I won’t belabor that point. It can be adjusted to find gold nuggets in difficult ground and to find metal in sand saturated with salt water. The reader already knows that as well or they wouldn’t be looking for a PI detector. What they may not know is that this is a fantastic detector to use to find metal imbedded in small and medium sized trees. Trees potentially contain lots of metal which can wreck saw blades. They can contain barbed wire, nails, bullets, staples, clothesline wires, lightning rods, occasional spikes driven in deliberately by people who call themselves “environmental activists”, many things. It won’t tell you what metal is in the tree but it can find the metal for you, thus saving another expensive saw blade.

A total piece of expensive junk
I have found this detector to be a useless piece of expensive junk. Cheaply made. The arm cuff is the worst thing about it. Cheaply made attached with one screw and always wiggles around no matter how tight I turn the one skinny hard to grip screw. And the fabric cuff part is also useless with a stingy little piece of velcro. The detector box is also made of real thin metal and is attached to the rod with cheap metal pins not screws so it is impossible to remove from the shaft. And it will not work on the beach at all because of the salt. No amount of adjustments helped. It make erroneous signals constantly and I found about 3 quarters during 6 hours. Normally I find about $ 7 dollars with my garrett. Also whites supplied no attachment hardware for the coil and told me that costs extra AFTER I bought the detector. I am going to save my money and buy a Minelab 4500 or 5000 and recommend you do the same. I will toss this one into a dumpster cause I wouldn't sell it to my worst enemy.

A great PI metal detector.
Very Deep Detector. I love being able to select high and or low conductors. I have only used it for relic and coin huntings so far. Being able to set high conductor and offsetting the GB to 3 or 4 with delay at 10us and finding coins in hunted out parks or school yards is neat as well. I cannot wait to try this PI machine on the beach. I wish it was water proof as well (hint, hint - White's).

A must for wet sand
I have owned many detectors over the years. Most of them I have sold off. The TDI SL is one of the keepers. I hunt beaches and use this particular machine on the beaches with heavy black sand. It is easy to set up and start hunting. It punches through wet sand with no problem. I have owned it for 4 years and used it heavily. Never has had a single problem.

White's has a SUPERB device here.
I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS PRODUCT.I have an All Sun (xianxun) that cost $100.Doesn't vary frequency. Otherwise identical, but lasts at full bore for a month of sundaes (or a week of Mondays) on 6 alkaline AA's.Neener-neener-neener.Unless you're pulling Bobby dazzlers from Oak Island, buy a Garret. Or a Minelab.White's has a SUPERB device here. But it isn't completely waterproof. And it looks like '60's era technology, if you're interested in cos-play. Is it made in the USA 🇺🇸? That would be a plus. Do you're homework. Mommy ain't here.
