What I’ve been looking for
Im only about 40 pages in, but I can already say that this is the information I’ve been searching for. Everything regarding motorcycle engines on the internet is too convoluted. This is simple, straightforward and apart from some typos, pure gold. If you’re looking for the basics of engine function, this is your answer.

NOT a step-by-step guide...
...but it is a good survey of the different systems and parts of a motorcycle, what they do and how they work. Recommended if you're unfamiliar before grabbing the shop manual. Written (and self published) by a non-native English speaker, but clear and fluent.

A friendly roadmap for newbies
This book on mechanics is seriously top-notch! The author have managed to take this complex stuff and serve it up in a way that's easy to swallow. It's like having a buddy who's a mechanic, but way more patient. Kudos for making it all feel doable and even kinda fun.
