I tried this game out casually at a friend's home. At first glance, I recall being blown away by the artistic design - beautiful intricate mythological Indian characters. Very high quality cards. I would say that alone is a reason to try out this game.As for the gameplay, I was immediately drawn to the team element and strategy component. The game does not take too long to learn, which is very important to me, as someone with a short attention span; each match lasts about 10 minutes, which is ideal if you're taking a short break and want to squeeze a quick game in.The standard game is incredibly fun and dare I say even moderately addicting, particularly if you're into team-based competition. That said, the game is also easily customizable if you want to institute personalized house rules and/or change things up.The first time I tried Lanka, I thought I would play for about a half hour, before going out to dinner with my friends; instead, we wound up ordering in and played for 5 hours straight!! I purchased about 6 Lanka decks that night to give to my family and close friends. We now routinely look forward to our next Lanka rematch.Lastly, the packaging is excellent! Really easy to store in a small bag/purse or in the pocket of a backpack if you're traveling.Bottom Line: Lanka is now my favorite card game, and I cannot be more excited in recommending it to you. Give it a chance and I promise you won't regret it!!

It is easy to learn but difficult to master, making it a great choice for players of all skill levels (even for those who don't play card games!). The game is also highly replayable, as there are many different ways to play it.The cards in Lanka are beautifully illustrated and depict a variety of mythical creatures and weapons. The artwork really helps to bring the game to life and immerse players in the world of Indian mythology.Overall, I would highly recommend Lanka to anyone who enjoys card games or Indian mythology. A creative spin on a turn-based card game, Battleground Lanka is super fun for a casual family or friends night. Very easy to learn and fast paced (most games end within 15-20 minutes). My cousins and I spent an entire evening playing this, and had a ton of fun taking turns back stabbing each other, playing the “neutral” double agent.The game offers unique characters, well balanced spells and attack/defense cards as well as double agent which makes the mid -late game interesting. Inspired from ancient Hindu mythology, the game teleports you into the battlefield of the Mahabharata, with heroic warriors, mystical weapons and creatively designed spells

Very easy to learn for novice gamers, with a subtle amount of strategy to keep even experienced gamers engaged. Each turn is a chance to win or lose it all. You have to plan your strategy butyou have to be flexible enough to change it up at a moments notice. Beautiful art work makes for a very immersive experience

I didn't know what to expect from Battleground Lanka but, since I like backing smaller game companies I figured I would give it a shot. I am glad I did because we had a ball playing.We don't normally like battle type games but I recently picked up a couple of two player games. My son and I really liked them but my daughter and wife couldn't play with us. Battleground Lanka (BL) allows us to all play together.Games are played in teams of two (if you have an odd number of players one player is a neutral party) and you can play with up to 9 players. We are usually four but, with the 9 characters each with their own powers, it lets us rotate out different characters so replay value is definitely there. Each team attacks the others and the team that has the last character standing wins.On your turn, you can play as many cards as you can (or as few) but the nice part is that only ONE can be an attack. That keeps it from getting a one turn kill at any point. Since you only have five health, multiple attacks would make the game very lopsided if one person had the luck of the draw with attack cards.The cards themselves are nice card stock. They aren't heavy duty, but they also aren't thin. The colors don't jump out, but they work. Each card clearly states what it does at the bottom of the card making it easy to decide what to play without having to go back to the manual at all.We had a lot of fun playing and were able to play multiple games as it doesn't take long to play after a few initial plays (it is relatively easy to pick up). This is going to be a go to battle game when we have more than two of us wanting to play. At under $20, this is a great addition to our game collection and will be for your family as well!

I dislike the way this product is advertised as the reality is very different. The packaging is all torn and I can’t even return it. Replacement always not an option as this was a gift for someone. I am very disappointed
