This book is a must read.
This was a great simply organized help to begin freelance writing. The concepts and ideas in the book can be applied to any niche you might chose. The lists of steps were so helpful for each phase of instruction. The tips on how to use available platforms was helpful too. It was nice to see encouragement to further education and how to evaluate your success of being a freelance writer on any niche you chose.

Very Informative
I have been a writer for most of my life. Although I have a lifetime of experience (I cover combat sports, with Boxing as my primary.) it has been a struggle to make money. Despite extensive online and print work through the years, I have come across many outlets who believe they are doing you a favor by giving you exposure and you should be happy with that. Though there have also been a few outlets that have paid me, I have learned that exposure is good, but it doesn't pay the bills. In the last decade, I have focused almost exclusively on building my own platform in part because I don't want to deal with outlets that demand much for little or no money. With this in,mind, I decided to read this book in the thinking that I might come across something that I did not know, perhaps a way to find outlets that would be inclined to pay their writers. There was a lot in this book that I did not know in terms of writing tools, web hosting, etc. I did have a bad experience years back working for an outlet that I responded to on Craigslist. Long story, short, I wrote for this outlet providing two to three columns a week for a period close to six months with the understanding that after what they called a "Trial period," I would be paid and even submitted my info to be paid. I wasn't paid anything and ended up walking away from the outlet after a dispute over that as well as a few other things. The book is very concise, but seems more geared for those who are either writing in the medical/research and/or financial fields. Although not my area of expertise or genre, I do appreciate the suggestions the author gives and will try to implement some of what she says when I decide to test the waters of freelancing again.

The Kickstart I needed
I found Gee through YouTube a week ago and have watched so many of her videos since then. I got Kindle Unlimited just so I could get a hold of her book and Iglad I did. If you want a book on freelance writing that will both encourage you and give you the steps you need to start, this is it!

A valuable tool
I follow the author on YouTube, so buying the book was an easy decision. She does an excellent job of making sure we understand that hard work will be involved while also letting us know that our goals are attainable. I love a book that balances examples from the author's personal experiences with solid instructions on where to start, what to do when one approach doesn't work, and reminders to not give up. There are also tips on what to do on a regular basis to keep you focused and marching towards your writing goals, whatever they may be. I thought the hard part was self-publishing my novel, for example. When it didn't sell in six short months, I gave up. She provides plenty of tips that will help me do things the right way by building a solid foundation first. This book is a buy.

Definitely Worth the Read
I have been researching rigorously how to establish a freelancing writing business. I have probably read about six or seven books on this topic, but this is by far one of my favorites. The information presented is short and concise, and the blog-like format made the information easily digestible. Thank you so much for your hard work, it was very helpful.

Quick Interesting Read
Dr. Nonterah gets right to the point and shares common sense strategies for starting a freelance writing career. She makes it sound doable WITH HARD WORK & DEDICATION. The one thing I wish the book addressed more thoroughly was how to start from ground zero.

Excellent
This is the most practical book I've read so far on freelance writing. It's clear, straightforward and makes you feel like you're standing on solid ground. It's also very motivating. I can hardly wait to put everything into action.

Practical and realistic advice for getting started as a freelance writer
Gertrude is a talented writer who makes starting a freelance writing career seem possible. She doesn't over promise quick results, which is important to me. I'm interested in medical writing but this book also opened my eyes to other types of writing as well. I read through it once and will be returning to work through some of the specific activities. Highly recommend!

Sounds doable: Practical and realistic
Reading this book I feel I can become a freelance writer. With this guide (that I will reread and refer to) it's just a matter of making a start. I like how down-to-earth it is. It doesn't promise the moon and riches beyond wildest measure. What it describes is a simple blueprint to help you achieve your goal. If you want to earn a living (even on the side) as a freelance writer then this book is for you.
