Good bags, great that they can be composted but too expensive
I like the idea but ordinary people cannot afford such expensive bags to help save the planet for future generations, the bags themselves are not even technically zip lock bags as it is a seal, doing your bit to help save the planet should not cost the earth (sorry for the pun) so these lose a star, halve the price and we can all start doing some good. The bags themselves are decent sized and do seem secure when sealed although I prefer see through rather than transparent but that is down to choice too I guess.Bottom line if you want to do your part for the planet and money is not an object then you should definitely buy these, but £18 for 100 bags makes no financial sense especially because they are compostable so a long life is not assured.

Good zip lock seal but at a price
I’m all for reducing plastic waste, and try and use reusable containers when possible, but sometimes a bag is needed. These are small bags so will have limited use, so a large handful of something will fit in and just about two rounds of bread so one sandwich. The zip seal is good and strong pushing down on the bag filled with air and zero escapes so air tight. They feel strong enough and don’t split, have little stretch and fine for freezer. These are only compostable so I expect sticking in a normal bin won’t achieve anything, and few areas have composting facilities. At twice the cost of plastic bags it’s not cheap going green. Overall the quality is great, the fact they are plastic free is always a plus, but the small size and cost will limit the appeal.

Work out as £9 a box....
I was so excited to try these as we get through a lot of plastic bags with sandwiches for the children, various snacks and even with toiletries on holiday and I'm aware of the negative impact on the environment but sometimes it's easy to just grab one without thinking. These have a slightly opaque look and every bag is a ziplock (no actual zip, just a press seal) and they say that they are a compostable bag so you can show the good you're doing. They're a regular size, slightly larger than the regular small sized sandwich bags but smaller than the medium ones. They're perfect for a sandwich and many other things. They come in 2 cardboard boxes though the 2 boxes and sealed together with plastic.... whether that's compostable plastic I'm not sure. The thing which deters me from buying again is that they're nearly £18 for 2 boxes of 50 bags, we get through so many, it's just not possible to continue buying, we would however consider if they worked out as under £5 a box, rather than £9.Each bag should last a while if you're able to rinse and dry but with my children at school they just seem to throw them away even though I ask for them back, if you're able to reuse though it is more of an investment.

Compostable only
2 packs of 50 compostable ziplock bags. These are reasonable quality and with care could be reused several times before binning.BUT - they are compostable - which means they should not be thrown in your recycle bin, or if you put them in your normal bin, they won't dissolve in the way you think. They need to be put in a compost bin for them to disintegrate.I have a compost bin, so it's not a problem. If you don't have a compost bin then these aren't the best buy for you. They're quite small - good for sandwiches, a chopped onion, small amounts of grated cheese etc - or a small portion of food.Like most environmentally friendly products, they come at a cost. Not an environmental one, but a financial one. £13.99 for 100 bags, which you may or may not be able to reuse depending on what you put in them, is expensive. For me, the reusable silicone bags are much better value, and although they are not compostable will last for many uses.

Good quality
These bags are strong and good quality and are approximately the size of small supermarket sandwich bags. The easily hold a round or two of sandwiches. They are translucent rather than transparent (probably due to the fact that it is made of corn). They are strong and don’t stretch and break as easily as the thin plastic bags sold in shops. They are packed individually rather than a roll making it easier to get at.Although they are not recyclable, at least they are not plastic, which has to be a good thing. But £16.99 for 100 bags? At this price, the average person is likely to vote with their wallets rather than their conscience.

Great but pricey!
We go through a lot of freezer bags usually, so these are a great eco friendly alternative.Biodegradable and compostable - these are a earth conscious version that actually work. Great size and great quality that don’t rip and also fit a great amount of food in themHowever, they’re expensive compared to the basic plastic version - especially at £18.
