I mean, u have to do the blowing but yeah, they work. Really loud. I keep these in my boat or attach them to my families life vest for emergencies. Good buy.

Pretty loud whistle. I gave them to my kids and they drove me crazy. Had to take them away and hide them, but they found them and started in again. So I took off to go get a pizza.

These whistles do not have an internal ball like traditional whistles and emit a deeper / lower tone more in line with a "train" whistle rather than a high pitch one.Hope this is useful

A must-have for kayakers and adventurers! Our whole family kayaks, so we bought this multipack of emergency whistles to attach to each of our life vests. We have tested them out on the water and they can be very loud (if you use them correctly!) On that note, some practice to get lip placement correct would be highly advised for new users.

These don’t put out much sound. They are just annoying in the house, but don’t do much outside. Returned them.

Small, lightweight, easy to use, loud enough or quiet enough depending on how hard you blow it, blow more gets louder. Work great for recess duty also.

I like the size of the whistle, the colour and the rope that goes around the neck area. Very nice.

They work but you have to blow pretty hard.

I would have given 4.5 if I could have. Robust and good enough. You have to give it a pretty good flow of air to get a sound. I wouldn't say it's the loudest, but it's good enough. Bought them for emergencies (store in the car and flotation devices). The lanyard they come on makes it easy to carry/attach. Pretty sturdy, so no problem. If it made a louder whistle, I would have given 5 stars.
