Just what i needed ...Very few have this feature
Great little infrared Laser heat Gun ...This little unit is great , it was off by 1.5 deg out of the box but with the manual calibration of +/- 5 degree i was able to dial it in to a perfect match , Others i have used don't have this feature so you get what you get so if it's off by reading too low or two high your stuck always adjusting numbers in your head , This took me about 2 minutes to calibrate and now it very accurate and matches a known / proven heat gun and thermometer , I will be buying a second one of these because of the ease of use and it can be dialed in within 2-3 minutes , This is a great value for the money , My only complaint which is really not a complaint is that there is a beep when the Temp is locked in , it's just something i am not use too and it's really not that bothersome at all and i can live with it m, There may even be a way to shut it off but for now it's not an issue and i may even end up liking it as it indicates that the temp is stable and the gun is reading / detecting it as a final accurate reading ( locked on ) . FYI .... This is not for human body / temp use and takes surface temps of things so when used correctly it's a great little unit for it's intended purpose .

This device can be highly accurate
I have been using surface reading thermometers for almost 30 years, when there was only one model available at the restaurant supply, and it cost $135 as I recall. The BENETECH Infrared Thermometer Gun is the most accurate one I have used, and I have used several other brands/models. At least it seemed accurate for ice and boiling water, but you gotta learn how to use it so that it gives you valid readings, and you need to know how to interpret any reading it provides, and I don't have the time nor the space to reduce that to writing here. But, of all the surface reading thermometers available, I only recommend this one. Often sufficient, but, if not, this one can let you know quickly when to move to a more accurate measuring technique. Get it, experiment with it, learn how to use it, and improve almost every aspect of cooking that involves heat, e.g. griddles have uneven surface heat, oven walls are different temperatures, the outside of a pot can tell you a lot about the inside of the pot, the top of a chunk of meat can give you a hint as to the temperature of inside, and, if you make "breakfast in a skillet," it can tell you when it might be safe to take a bite, and if you are heating your soup in a microwave oven, it can tell you when it is ready to eat. This thermometer is a required item in my kitchen; I would not want to cook without one.Think systematically/scientifically, experiment, and enjoy.

Use this on my RV
I had one before to use on the hubs of my TT, but it got a bit abused. This is a great replacement. Does everything I need. Batteries seem to last a long time, even in the hot cab of my truck during summer.

That damn beep.....
This is a fine infrared thermometer, but why oh why does it have to beep every time you pull the trigger?? And not have a way to turn that off!? Now every time I use it my cat goes nuts, she hears the beep and comes sprinting over to try to play with the laser, usually in a place or time when I least want her there. And even when it's not in use, if she sees it, she will knock it down to the floor, which is how I at least know it is rather durable. Even the Harbor Freight model lets you turn of the beep for goodness' sake.
