This thing is amazing
I absolutely love this electric lunchbox. I set an alarm on my phone and plug it in 30 min before lunch and the food is piping hot at lunchtime. Plus it is like you heated it in the oven rather than the funkiness of heating it in the microwave. It is really helping me stay on my diet because I really crave hot food at lunch but don't want salad every day from the cafeteria. This is perfect. CONS: I pulled the cure yellow handle off when I tried to open it once because the lid is kind of vacuumed on there. I fixed it with some suprerglue and am careful now not to use the handle to open the box. Also, there is no included area to store the cord. I wish there was a little pocket or something to put the cord

Great design, convenient, and super useful
I was on a long road trip, and this little guy really helped me out by warming my food in 20-30 mins! (I accentually warmed one meal for 1 hour, and boy this thing really heats things up, so don't worry about not able to heat your refrigerated food!)Update:After using it for a month, I really enjoyed this product, and bought another one for my parents! (The metal spoon kind of gets hot, so be careful not to warm the food for too long)

Excited and Wowed!
Upon receiving this, I took some black eyed peas straight from the fridge, directly in the lunch box and immediately plugged it in. I actually forgot about it and 40 mins have passed by. I opened it and it was hot and semi-boiling. I haven’t tried it in my semi truck yet but I will extremely soon. I expect it to operate the same. If not, I will be back to update this. But as of now, yeah, I’m extremely happy.Update 5/10/2021: I used it today in my semi truck. I had spaghetti... I left it on much longer than I needed only because I didn’t want to pull over. When I made it to my destination, it was piping hot. Enough said!!!

Very poorly made. DO NOT BUY.
First off, I’ve bought a few different electric lunch boxes. They are all poorly made although the idea is good. So, this one. I’ve had it a few weeks maybe. So far the handle on the top has ripped off. The tab on the side of the lid to secure the lid to the bottom falls off easily. The lid doesn’t seal right. So when your food gets hot enough, with liquids it seems, it’ll burp out the side spraying anything close with your lunch. And just now, one of the feet on the bottom fell off. It functions as a heater because it heats up your food, but the construction is just terrible.

Excellent lunch box, heats food piping hot, handles and latches ?, would recommend with caveats
I looked at a LOT of electric lunch boxes before settling on this one. Was won over by the look of the lunch box...it's sleek and very attractive. I'm pleased with my purchase, but I do have some observations about design improvements that the manufacturer might want to consider.I've used this lunch box for about 9 months now, and it works great! It heats food quickly, and gets it piping hot (too hot perhaps...I have to let it cool a bit before I can eat it..not a complaint!). Top marks there! NOTE: if you are using the car adapter, you have to about double the time for heating the food through from what you experience using the wall adapter (also not a complaint, just a note...using the car adapter required a bit of planning to have the food hot when I wanted it to be). The instructions say not to heat frozen food if I recall, but I put my food into the lunch box frozen (fully cooked..I would not attempt to cook raw food from frozen) and with the wall adapter, I can have my lunch heated through in about 30 minutes if I must. I usually plug my food in about an hour before I want to eat it, and that works well for me with my work situation. In the car, I would give food that cold at least an hour to warm through...less if the food wasn't stone cold to begin with..possibly more, depending on how full the lunch box is). Now, the design flaws (in my opinion). Before I purchased the lunchbox, I read through many reviews and had some concerns. There were some complaints that the silicon handle had broken. I decided to buy the box anyway, and just be REALLY careful with the handle. So far, my handle is holding up, but I NEVER use the handle to carry the unit (unless I support the lunch box from underneath with my other hand). I can see why the handle breaking could be a concern. It doesn't feel very sturdy. I carry my electric lunch box in my regular canvas lunch box, and use the silicon handle only to lift the electric lunch box in and out of my regular lunch box. Which brings me to the second reason why I never carry the electric lunch box by the handle only. The latches on the lunch box top that secure the top to the rest of the unit are seriously questionable. They are loose and floppy and could release at any time with the slightest bump (in my opinion). They just don't latch tightly and don't give any reassurance that they are secure. Having said that, I've never had a failure of the latches or the handle, but I think it's only because I am aware of these things and carry the lunch box in another carry case to avoid having any issues. So, I personally think that the company should consider redesigning the latches particularly, OR a simple solution would be to offer a carry case for the lunch box...I think that would satisfy anyone that may have qualms about the security of the handle and the latches. I don't think this is a lunch box that you could carry as a lunch box AS IS (i.e. not in a carry case) unless you take precautions.Personally, I don't have a problem with that as I never intended to carry the lunch box as is. It functions well in the car. It functions even better plugged into a wall outlet. The silicon seal for the lid is a great design and seems to seal very well (though I haven't specifically tested it for leaking). My only other quibble (and this is a really small kind of nit picky observation) is that the silverware included while very nice and well made, is very small. Suitable in size for a toddler (IMO). I never use them and prefer to bring my own cutlery from home, but I do leave the silverware in the unit in case I forget to bring cutlery I always have some available. NOTE: if you plan to use the cutlery included with the lunch box, remove them before plugging the unit in as I have read complaints that they become hot if left in their compartment. This I can not confirm, but suspect is probably true. After nine months of consistent usage, this lunch box performs as well as the day I bought it, so seems to be well constructed.Bottom line, I WOULD recommend this electric lunch box to others WITH the caveat that they should take care with the handle and latches.

Plastic lid clips broke
The lunch box does what it is supposed to do, but after literally 3 times closing the lid, the hinge on the clip broke. Not good durability at all.Unfortunately it's too late for me to return it (I bought it on sale, to be used later)

Not bed at all, works well
I love my heater lunch box. It is very easy to use and very convenient. Now I can eat hot food instead of cold sandwiches everyday or eating fastfood all the time. This sure saves a lot of time and money. Awesome gadget. It is great to have food hot when I am ready for it even when traveling. I don’t have to depend on fast food. I can have much healthier options.

Don't get other brands, GET this one!
Highly recommend this product! Bring with food with you to work, this warms up the food fast, pour a little bit of water and it will taste great. The color is beautiful and the material is resistant. I returned other products that I bought because it was cheap and defected but I got this one that was a little more expensive and love it, don't get other brands, GET THIS ONE!! It's easy to clean, Trust me

Heats Well
Perfect portion size. I use my lunch box when I do trade shows, events or in a training where most of the time the food sold is pretty bad. I have food intolerances so it is great that I can have a hot meal without any hassles. I just plug it in and 15-20mins later it gets really hot. I have not used it in the car yet though. It’s a good Looking product and so far it’s solid and does not feel cheap although the top seems like it would break if I forced it.So far so good.

Good product, outstanding customer service
The first unit I received had weak latches that fell off after first use. The company contacted me to get more information and made a new version with better latches! The new unit has model number DH-FH01. On 12 volts (lithium battery, Jackery 100) I am pulling around 42 watts. I prefer this unit over the Koolatron as you can put food straight into the stainless steel container which is a bit more handy than using aluminum tins or dishes which just add to the cooking time. The other advantage of this unit is that it has a vent for the steam so you can keep the clasps locked. If you keep the Koolatron locked it will eventually deform if left on too long... this unit won't have that issue because you always keep the steam vent open when cooking. You can also use the vent to put a candy thermometer through the vent which is nice if you want to keep an eye on the temperature. I tried this with the new model, putting about 1cup of water and waited until it got to 50°C and then put a whole egg in there and waited about 30minutes. It worked! The whites were a bit soggy but the yellow was medium-firm... exactly what I was expecting after researching sous-vide eggs. This obviously isn't sous-vide but it was pretty cool to eat an egg "slow" cooked from the fridge even though it never hit boiling temperature. Mostly I have this unit to reheat canned foods because they do not need to be heated above boiling point (since that already occurred during the canning process). Really happy with this unit!

If you like your food hot, add a piece of heat transfer pad
Company starting to make us go back to the office. Great for avoiding the long line at the microwave, especially when u r behind those with soup, stew or the 1 minute/open/taste/repeat guy. I measured the current at the beginning and it started from 0.7A and after20 minutes went to almost 0A. This tells me that the hot plate is about 80W when cold and has a PTC to limit current as it gets hotter. The food was warm, but not quite at the temp I liked. I touched the plate at the end and the plate was relatively hot compared to the metal removable canteen box. The heat plate just relies on touching the metal canteen to transfer heat, but contact is probably not the greatest. This leads to the hot plate getting up to temperature and shutting off, when the food is not so hot. By adding a silicone heat transfer pad, the kind used for computer IC and heat sinks, the transfer seems to be much better and food getting much hotter. I got the 0.5mm one which does not affect the lid closing. The lid uses vacuum seal to stick to the metal canteen works quite well now. It has a small red light to show power is on. Overall much better than sticking my food into a communal microwave.
