Great snare sound with minimal hits!
I am usually a "less is more" kind of guy but I thought I'd give this wide 30 strand product a try just for kicks. Man, am I glad I did! This thing woke up my moderately-priced 13 inch Crush snare! It isn't my personal set (I play the church drums) so the modification I can do is limited. After installing these wires I was pleased to find my light hits registering with full "tch" and no buzz making it easier to play with ghost notes and deepen the dynamics of my playing. The product seems well built and strong with heavy ends and good welds. I'd buy again for my personal snares.Note: The 13 inch strands are for a 13 inch drum. They are not 13 inches long. I felt it was worth mentioning after reading some reviews from disappointed buyers.

Excellent product quality and sound
I've used these snare wires on several gigs now - one jazz and two with my classic rock cover band. If you want the sound qualities and sensitivity that 30 strands produce, then I would recommend purchasing these wires. The stringing of the wires is uniformly even. The brass end clips are a nice touch and do not choke the snare sound. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Did make a positive difference
I have had a Ludwig Supraphonic mid to late 60's that came with the Ringo Star type set which I purchased in 1969. That snare has always been a bit ringy for me even though I had added a bit of cloth strip dampening under the head. I had to hit right in the middle to avoid the excessive ring. When I played on another snare, wood shell, at rehearsal, I was impressed with how sensitive and responsive it was all over the surface and wanted mine to be somewhat similar. I had the standard width snares.I decided after some reading to replace the snares with this PS super 30 and it solved some of that over tone ringing where I can hit further beyond the center before the ringing becomes annoying plus this gave me much more sensitive response to lighter strokes. I can't say if just replacing my very old snares with a new set of standard width would have done near as well but I thought why not give these a try. These didn't completely solve my problem and it may take more refined dampening of the head, changing them or just go to a wood drum but I do feel they contributed enough to improving the sound and response that I feel they were worth it.
