I like the simplicity of the reel nothing to go wrong with it being a 1:1 ratio.

Bought this to put electric fence wire on, not rope or tape. It doens't appear to be labeled that it can do the straight plain wire, but it seems fine for us. Took me a few minutes to figure out the operation; which way to attach the wire to reel properly. Had to tape the start of the wire onto it. Not a big deal at all. Not sure what that little bit of metal under the handle is for, but I rested that on the waist of my jeans to help hold the weight as a reeled in, lol. It seems sturdy enough that as long as you don't bang it around, or keep it out in the sun our rain, it should be functional for many years. Glad we bought it, as the first time I tried to unroll the wire I had hand rolled from the temporary paddock, I was quite peeved at how much it caught itself. The reel prevents that. Though the smooth wire does on occasion get overly excited and leaps off the roll too soon, but you just have to walk backwards to re-tighten it and continue on. On the whole, MUCH easier than working the by hand. And also a nifty place to store the wire.

I have used this reel for over 9 years. Good performance..is brittle in cold weather.

This reel works well but it is often difficult to attached to an end post and keep it from grounding out.

I use the electric fence to keep raccoons out of a vineyard near harvest time. I put the fence up and take it down every year. This spool works great for both setting the line out and quickly spooling it back up at harvest. Definitely a time saver for temporary fence applications

Well made, came in the timeframe stated.Unfortunately does not take as much electric fencing as I would have liked. I have the cord for horse fencing and I believe it really is designed for the wire electric fencing.

Nice, it is definitely high quality, rugged and well built, I have not had a chance to use it yet, but really look forward to putting it to use.

Gets the job done but the wire jumps off the reel if you allow any slack while winding. Ofcourse you wont notice it until you have a tangled mess! It is pretty squeaky. Also, I still haven't figure out how to lock it. There are too many metal pieces on the reel to hang it on a page wire fence and it's way too heavy to hang on your polywire line. I usually need to carry along a 5 gallon pail and set it on that. Very very frustrating product to use.
