Absolutely happy with solar watch worn for 2 months straight
This is a fantastic SOLAR watch. I took some time to review it. I rely on reviews for my purchases, so I do not want to lead anyone on. I have worn it every day for 2 months. This watch is great. I am not easy on my watches Though I enjoy taking watches apart to fix them, I hate the idea of having to replace batteries. This is the first watch where the chronograph time did not stop working. It is great. The alarms are set to the digital time. The chronograph and digital times are separate and do not sinc up. The digital back light is bright and the brightest I have seen on a solar watch, this includes the high end Seiko and Citizen solar watches I have had. My wrists are a little larger than average. However, the strap fits and is secure but could be a little bigger. It will fit the average guy.The price is incredible for the quality.

I like the looks of the watch
It arrived a day after I ordered it. I have been wearing it for 24 hours now. I really like the looks of it.It comes well packaged with instructions on how to set the watch. It has dual time function. I use the analog portion for my time zone and I use the digital for Atlantic time zone. Now I don't have to change my time every time I leave the midwest. The solar portion is almost half of the face of the watch. When the solar portion runs out the battery will take over. You don't miss a second with it. I set the time with my iPhone and it is keeping accurate time.It has an Alarm function and a stop watch. It also has an indicator showing you the day of the week and when you push the start button it displays the month and date. The light function lights up the digital clock only, it would be nice to see the analog hands when you push the light button. Not a big show stopper for me. It has rubber style bands and fits comfortably. 7-3/4 inch wrist and it fit very well. You can use this watch up to 50 meters underwater, you can not use any of the buttons under the water. There is a warning in the instructions. The face of the watch is easy to read, there are no numbers like 12, 3, 6, 9 etc. Not a show stopper for me.It was a little difficult for me to get the Month / day/ date stuff set. Once I figured it out it was a breeze. Just read the instructions and take you time. This is my first SKMEI watch and my first solar power watch, I really like it. After I have worn if for awhile I will update my review accordingly. (jw). Update 06/2020: The hands on the watch stopped moving after 90 days, the second watch works fine. Disappointed that it stopped working. I tried to contact the manufacture and was unable to make contact.

Really nice watch - an exercise in humility, too!
There's a bit of a learning curve to the operation (turning the alarm and hourly chime on/off requires a "two-button boogie") that's mentioned in some of the reviews, but it's really not a big deal once you've done it once or twice, and probably necessary to vary some of the operations in order not to step on anyone's patents and such. Fair enough. It's unclear to me the extent of the solar charging of this watch; it does show two battery codes on the back, one of which (2016) is the 5- or 7-year baby, the other (626) just a run-of-the-mill 2-year-or-so cell. If the solar portion just decreases drain on the batteries, we're in for l-o-n-g battery lives. If it doesn't add to battery life (maybe it's just meant to kick in if your batteries go dead while you're on expedition somewhere), the watch still stands on its own for comfort and style points. The medium case size (roughly a 43mm) - large enough to be contemporary but not outrageous, with no "wings" or protrusions, and the pseudo dive strap with a single, wide strap keeper (I hate two narrow keepers - you always seem to be "chasing" them), give the watch the overall feel (light, like most resin watches, but still with enough "heft" so it doesn't feel like you're wearing a paper watch - as some do - and presentation of an old school dive watch. (Divers actually use dive computers nowadays, which, ironically, look like modern digital watches - we've come full circle - form follows function, folks.) Light, comfortable, legible, attractive . . . all for twenty bucks. Very cool!

Died within 2 years, not a real solar watch
Had this for two years and I was very enthusiastic about it. However, it died recently and decided to see what's inside.I actually found that it has a miniature solar panel, but it also has two regular batteries, one big, flat 3 Volts, Maxell CR2016, and one little Maxell SR626SW underneath, I think it is a LR44. There are no rechargeable batteries, so it's not a real solar watch. It is unclear when it runs on solar, maybe outside, but most use is usually indoors, so this is not the smartest design. The 3 volt one was still functional while the other was dead. As an educated guess, probably for the designers it was cheaper to use a regular battery for backup and rely on solar only when outside. It's an arguable design to me, since a single 3V CR2016 would have lasted longer and would have been simpler to produce or service. It is well built but hard to take apart to service. There is a solar cell, putting out up to 5 Volts under a LED desk lamp, which is good under intense light, but at normal ambient light it it barely puts out 0.7 Volts. The current indoor is zero, so this is useless to power a watch, maybe under intense sunlight. The brand and model says VIMUN SC2813-8 A3/2.This is not looking easy to service, too many parts and little screws to take out. Plus the big flat 3 Volt is at the top, then you have to remove that to get underneath for the other smaller battery. Double work.Would have been a simpler design to use a rechargeable battery and a charging regulator instead of two batteries plus a solar cell. It would have also been a real solar watch in that case.Overall, I'd give it 3 stars because of the batteries. It is reasonably cheap to replace but no different than any other battery powered watch.

the set up instructions could be easier to follow
the watch is great, it needs a more flexible band
